Trouwe kijker vanaf het begin. Vind de serie steeds beter worden en het zijn gewoon geweldige plaatjes en scènes om van te genieten.

Ik ben weer bij met Salvation. Dit is wel de meest ongeloofwaardig geschreven serie die ik ooit heb gekeken, wat menselijk karakter betreft. Meerdere personages die ineens (weer) omslaan en (weer) samenwerken alsof er niks aan de hand is terwijl ze eerst lijnrecht tegenover elkaar stonden. Alsof de schrijvers geen idee hebben hoe ze verder moeten en maar iets verzinnen. Ik blijf het nog wel kijken om te zien hoe dit seizoen afloopt, maar ik vermoed dat er geen derde seizoen gaat komen.

Werd een beetje tijd. Wat de serie zo leuk maakte in de eerste paar seizoen was op gegeven moment niks meer van te merken. Serie was niet slecht maar een erg standaard romcom geworden.

Goed om te lezen dat Salvation niet beter wordt naarmate de serie vordert. Kan die mooi van m'n to-watch lijst af. Ik was ergens halverwege seizoen 1 volgens mij en begon me al te storen aan de diverse verhaallijnen. Bijvoorbeeld hoe het doodschieten van een professor door een student geen enkele emotionele impact leek te hebben op diezelfde student. Of het gemak waarmee er off-the-record naar het buitenland en terug wordt gereist. Nee, salvation is geen serie voor de denkende kijker.

Liam krijgt er wel degelijk problemen mee dat hij Croft neer heeft geschoten, hij praat er ook over.
Maar niet alles werd direct laten zien. Dit krijgt ook nog een gevolg in s2, maar dat hebben ze iets te mooi/makkelijk afgerond imo.

Het off-the-record rondvliegen lijkt me voor high-ranking personeel van FBI/CIA/DOD niet zo moeilijk te regelen, dat zal bij die instanties wel vaker voorkomen om zaken op te lossen zonder grote gevolgen.
In Darius z'n geval lijkt het me ook niet zo vergezocht, iemand als hij zou zonder veel problemen een andere identiteit moeten kunnen fabriceren.

Mijn grootste probleem zit hem niet in dat soort zaken, maar puur in totaal onzinnige keuzes en beslissingen van karakters. Dit seizoen speelt indoctrinatie duidelijk een grote rol, in vele facetten.

Bezig met Lodge 49 .. weet niet wat ik er van moet denken, een soort van dramacomedy, maar het is verrekte traag in de verhaal opbouw .. ik denk dat zo'n serie, waarvan alle afleveringen inmiddels beschikbaar zijn, het niet gaat redden voor een s2 .. ik zit nu in E5 ... dus nog even bekijken wat te doen met de rest ..

Yellowstone seizoenfinale viel met iets tegen, had er iets meer van verwacht, maar wellicht omdat S2 redelijk snel aangekondigd was is dit met opzet zo gedaan. Niet echt een cliffhanger aanwezig ..

Famke Janssen bemachtigt rol in Netflix-serie over Central Park Five

Famke Janssen heeft een rol gekregen in een miniserie over de Central Park Five-zaak. De serie, die wordt uitgezonden op Netflix, is gebaseerd op een waargebeurd verhaal waarin vijf donkere tieners onterecht werden veroordeeld voor een verkrachting in Central Park, in New York.

De verkrachtingszaak hield New York en heel de Verenigde Staten bezig in de periode eind jaren tachtig, begin jaren negentig. De serie volgt de vijf tieners uit Harlem vanaf het moment dat ze in het voorjaar van 1989 voor het eerst werden ondervraagd over het incident.

Op de avond van 19 april 1989 werd een 29-jarige blanke vrouw tijdens het joggen aangevallen, aangerand en op gruwelijke wijze verkracht. Twaalf dagen lag de vrouw in coma. De vijf donkere jongens werden daarvoor veroordeeld uitsluitend op basis van volgens hen afgedwongen en valse beschuldigingen. In 2014 werden de vijf pas vrijgesproken.

De 53-jarige Janssen gaat de rol van Nancy Ryan spelen, de aanklager die het heropende onderzoek leidde. In de serie, geregisseerd door Ava DuVernay, vertolken Chris Chalk, Joshua Jackson, Adepero Oduye, Jharrel Jerome en Jovan Adepo belangrijke rollen.

Comingsoon.net meldt dat het filmen van de serie deze week is begonnen in New York. De bedoeling van Netflix is om de miniserie in 2019 op het platform aan te bieden.

Ben na twee afleveringen in S2 met Salvation gestopt. Toen de serie begon verwachtte ik geen topkwaliteit maar hoopte wel op iets van substantie en uitwerken van een echt verhaal. Op zich kan dat ook met het uitgangspunt van aarde onder bedreiging - een soort Deep Impact maar dan verder en beter uitgewerkt. Helaas, 1 seizoen volgehouden, maar S2 is echt dramatisch slecht. Ook mijn guilty (of moet ik zeggen dirty) pleasure Taylor Cole is onvoldoende om het vol te houden.

Bodyguard is gisteren begonnen op de BBC, vanavond aflevering 2. Voor het eerst dat ik Richard Madden zie en niet Robb Stark, hij heeft hier een kille zakelijkheid die goed past bij het karakter wat hij neerzet. Zowel als acteur als het karakter David Budd die als niemand kijkt helemaal niet zo gecontroleerd is.

Alleen als hij naast Lothar Frey zit, dan is het wel een Red Wedding reunie.

Dit idd, HBO, Showtime, Netflix, Hulu en dergelijke zetten keer op keer series neer waar de Amerikaanse kabel zenders vrijwel zelden aan kunnen tippen. Uit deze OP wederom geen cable op mijn lijst gezet.

Nick Frost toevoegen was een geniale zet. Iedereen is zo intens serieus de hele tijd dat er wat humor tegenover moest komen en hij doet dat fantastisch zonder dat het irritant wordt.

Doe dit is eens in spoilers! Dit is een algemeen series topic. Er komen hier veel mensen om dingen over series te lezen die ze nog niet hebben gezien maar nog wel willen kijken. Het is dat ik de serie toevallig gisteren heb afgekeken. Maar dit is echt irritant.

Zouden jullie als je dit merkt een topic report willen maken? Dan wordt het wel redelijk snel opgelost, dat werkt beter dan allemaal berichten erover te posten. Topper, heb alleen nog maar aflevering 1 gezien (en zometeen ga ik aflevering 2 zien), goede kwaliteit, de pilot vond ik heerlijk. Jammer dat netflix niet deze kwaliteit weet te brengen, amazon heeft meestal heel goede kwaliteit, maar er komt weinig uit.

Ik vind het een heerlijke serie en hoop echt dat er meerdere seizoenen mogen volgen, eindelijk weer iets wat echt goed te pruimen is. Gewoon een echte mannenserie. Geen vrouwengeneuzel erin. Oorlog, ontploffingen, e.d. , heb genoten.

Ik vind Jack Ryan wel een prima serie maar mijn grote klacht is dat het allemaal weer zo traag gaat. Hele scenes die niets toevoegen aan het verhaal. Het voelt een beetje aan alsof ze niet eens genoeg verhaal hadden om 8 afleveringen te vullen. Als ze het in 5 hadden gedaan, was het wat mij betreft een stuk boeiender. En we moeten straks weer lang wachten voor er een tweede seizoen is.

Ik heb op Tweakers nog niemand iets zien zeggen over de serie Karppi (Engelse titel: Deadwind). Wij zijn er vorige week mee begonnen en al aardig aan het bingen!

Het is een Finse (dus Scandinavische ) misdaadserie over een rechercheur die een moordzaak moet oplossen en gedurende het onderzoek ook steeds meer in de clinch raakt met haar privéleven. De hoofdpersoon (Karppi) doet mij wel een klein beetje denken aan Saga uit Bron/Broen (the Bridge), want zij is ook rechercheur en komt nogal stoïcijns over. Toch zijn de gelijkenissen niet erg groot.

Anyway, ik vind het een fijne serie met genoeg spanning en vraagtekens om telkens door te willen kijken. Wat mij ook aanspreekt (maar dat zal vast niet voor iedereen gelden) is de omgeving waarin het zich afspeelt, namelijk Helsinki in Finland. Ik weet niet wat het is met Scandinavië, maar de natuur en "kilheid" die de omgeving en de gebouwen van misdaadseries die zich daar afspelen spreken mij erg aan.
