If you get a cop that wants to give you hassle that won't deter them. It's illegal and the fine is about the price of the M365 itself. If they have a bad day they will take the step as well. From the stories here it seems it pretty much always depends on the cop you meet. Sometimes you get off with a warning, sometimes not but I don't think any excuses you give has any bearing on it. Or at least, what measures to take to reduce to the vet minimum the risk (e.g. Insurance, add flash light, liability insurance, etc).

My suggestion is to not do it or if you do at least to view the M365 as written off. It's sad but it's the way it is (and I'm happy that some parties are raising this issue now because it *is* really a safe and 'green' way of transportation).
