In the installation instructions of your heat pump, there should be a chapter on defrosting.
Basically, if the value of BT16 drops below the setpoint (usually -3) it starts accumulating "defrost time", then when a certain value is reached, a defrost cycle will start.
That being said, +10 is usually pretty far above the range where defrosts will occur.
In the graphs below it is clearly visible that defrost happens every 3 hours exactly, while BT16 is above 0.

I have seen other manufacturers (i.e.Daikin) having Oil Return Operation set by time interval (3 hours, by the way). Wondering if Nibe is having the same somewhere in their firmware, that is not documented.
