Better late than never I guess.
I said last week that I would try to create a map showing where was Max faster than Lewis over the race of the 70th Anniversary GP.
It took me a bit longer than expected, but here it is.
I explain the whole methodology of how I created this chart on my site, but I'll try to summarize it here in a few words. I got the telemetry info from the F1 live timing app, then divided the track into 100 micro-sectors, and compared the speed of Max vs the speed of Lewis in each one of those micro-sectors. This analysis uses the data from all laps except laps in which any of the drivers were in the pits.
The chart is fairly easy to read. Areas with a blue color represent sectors of the track in which Max was faster than Lewis. The darker the color, the greater the difference in speed between the two drivers. Areas that are white are sections in which both drivers were more or less just as fast.
I know that it is a bit late, but I thought it would be interesting to show you this before the race in Barcelona.
Also, I didn't know if I should add this in this thread or the General F1 Season thread. If I added it in the wrong section I apologize.
