@weejewel don't you think webapi software should be available before 2.0?
If it's not there's a gap
weejewel [4:08 PM]
No, the web API is very dependent on homey v2.0.0
sailingduck [4:09 PM]
Why can we use it then atm?
sailingduck [4:14 PM]
There's no point in developing a flow builder if the management software to authorise it isn't available anytime soon
m-ruiter [4:17 PM]
I guess only the security layers are dependend since it already works for the rest
App already in store that use it with full access
2 Bad. Guess this will make FlowMe go back to a laag pitje
Or worse
sailingduck [4:18 PM]
There's no point in spending time on it if it hopefully can be used this year
m-ruiter [4:19 PM]
There goes the "The community can create a app with the functionality if they want and cant work on mobile, the functionality is already finished to make it" (edited)
That quote was used on multiple occasions as a response to the web interface removal
sailingduck [4:20 PM]
It's like forbid fossil fuel cars but the electric cars you can buy can only be charged in the factory
m-ruiter [4:20 PM]
Same old , same old (edited)
Well. I cant manage my electric car in the new APP because its SDKv1 :joy:
I need the settings page
sailingduck [4:21 PM]
I'd sell it :stuck_out_tongue:
m-ruiter [4:22 PM]
Maybee when the facelift comes out :joy:
For now... Never anything else anymore
Best thing i ever took for a ride. And i did a lot of high end cars
sailingduck [4:23 PM]
Can imagine
But for a rijtjeshuis an electric car isn't very practical
So I stick to the co2 machines
But @weejewel you do agree that's not very convenient right?
weejewel [4:38 PM]
@sailingduck Well, not necessarily. We'd rather have our own stuff working before giving access to 3rd party developers. The web api is already working, just cannot be released in our app store due to security.
sailingduck [4:39 PM]
so homeydash is a security risk?
weejewel [4:45 PM]
@sailingduck At the moment, yes. There is no fine-grained control over permissions
weejewel [4:46 PM]
But we trust @swttt with this. Similar to a sort of 'partnership' api access
lubbertkramer [4:56 PM]
replied to a thread:
So why not the same trust in what he is building flomey because athom is ditching the webui
Athom doesn't want the community to make a webui replacement @weejewel? (edited)
That needs to be available before Athom removes it and not like the :soon: label we see too much these days
weejewel [4:58 PM]
That's not what I'm saying. Personally I think it's a brilliant initiative
lubbertkramer [4:58 PM]
So its gets access now?

So it can be used like homeyda.sh
weejewel [4:58 PM]
Users who still want the desktop flow editor shouldn't update to v2.0.0, or until a community replacement is finished
lubbertkramer [4:59 PM]
It's almost finished needs the key from athom
So 2.0 comes year later maybe flomey only because athom doesn't give s key and the user can't make use of backup etc only because he likes the webui
sailingduck [5:00 PM]
No it's not finished lubbert :see_no_evil:
weejewel [5:00 PM]
Users can use 3rd party apps if they host them locally (so implicitly agree to the security risk).
lubbertkramer [5:00 PM]
Almost xD but before 2.0
Homeyda.sh is not locally
So why make a difference it's the same main developer
Or just adding it too homeyda.sh is the workaround because that one is allowed :see_no_evil:
weejewel [5:03 PM]
Obviously we will then revoke the keys :slightly_smiling_face:
sailingduck [5:07 PM]
that's funny I actually suggested a plugin for homeydash at the start :see_no_evil:
perfectly makes sense to trigger flows from your dashboard like the new app can do
