Hello,
I would like to add one more feature request based on my experience with the SolarFlow 4000 AC+.
I have noticed that the PV-In connection appears to continuously consume approximately 50 W, even when there is no solar production, for example during the night.
50 W may not seem like much, but this adds up to approximately:
- 50 W × 24 hours = 1.2 kWh per day / 15% of the 8 kWh!
- This is around 36 kWh per month
- On an annual basis, this could be more than 400 kWh of unnecessary consumption
For a battery system of this size, this is quite significant. In my case, it also has a noticeable negative effect on the overall round-trip efficiency (RTE), because energy is being consumed simply by keeping the PV-In connection active when there is no useful PV energy available.
Would it be possible to add a function to completely switch the PV-In input on and off (in the Zendure app)?
Ideally, I would also like this functionality to be exposed through the API/integration. I currently use the Gielz Zendure integration in Home Assistant, so it would be very useful if Home Assistant could control the PV-In connection as well.
For example, a user could configure an astronomical schedule such as:
- 30 minutes after sunset → switch PV-In OFF
- 30 minutes before sunrise → switch PV-In ON
This would avoid the approximately 50 W standby consumption during periods when there is no solar production, while still ensuring that the PV input is available before the sun starts producing energy.
Alternatively, the switching could be based on actual PV production, solar elevation, or another suitable condition.
I believe this could be a very useful feature for users who are particularly focused on energy efficiency and dynamic electricity tariffs. It would also improve the effective RTE of the system considerably over a full day, especially during long winter nights.
Would you be able to forward this as a feature request to the development team and let me know whether this could potentially be implemented in a future firmware/app version?
Thank you again for your help and for considering these suggestions.
