Oh interessant, heb je de ‘S1’ variant of origineel? Ze hebben blijkbaar meerdere revisies in de loop van de tijd gedaan.
Van Michelin:
S1, S2 and S3 markings on tyres denote that they are specific Michelin designations for tyres used and intended for specific vehicles (Original Equipment). The differences between them are that they are designed to improve certain performance aspects of the vehicles. Importantly, tyres marked S1, S2, or S3 must be replaced as a set and mounted on the same axle. Tyres marked S1, S2 and S3 can be used on any car. There will be no difference in comfort. The S marked versions usually have better rolling resistance, and hence lower fuel consumption due to the extra oil in the tread compound. The rigidity remains the same.
The special markings S1, S2 and S3, are to indicate that it is an improved version on the previous one with better performance.
S1 - An improved version of the standard tyre with some technical improvements in the rubber (mostly visible in the improved European labelling - fuel efficiency, performance in wet and acoustic comfort).
S2 - An improved version of the S1, with even more technical improvements in the rubber
S3 – Even further improvement on the S2
