Een stukje tekst dat ik al (in het Engels) klaar heb staan voor gebruik op het
Mozillazine forum (waar de vraag veel vaker langs komt):
I can tell you how I did it:
- Create a new folder on the partition you wish to hold the Thunderbird files
- Using the Thunderbird Profile Manager, create a new profile and point it at the folder you just created
- Do not start through into Thunderbird, but turn it off
- Download, install and run
MozBackup to create a backup of the old profile
- Run
MozBackup again, but now restore the just created backup to the new profile
- Verify if everything is there in the new profile. You may have to reinstall the extensions
- Remove the old profile using the Profile Manager
This will leave you with a very small stub under ...\Application Data\Thunderbird on your C: partition. Back it up carefully. If you restore it after reinstalling your OS and Thunderbird, but before running Thunderbird, you will be up and running in next to no time (I've done it a couple of times already). A nice picture of the results:
This also works with FireFox.
