To EVE´s Alpha Testers
A short Alpha 8 Phase is about to kick in!
The alpha 7 stress test that started on 25th of July and came to an end on 31st of July was useful for us here at CCP. Thank you all for taking part and for your support, comments and reports! With your help we found and eliminated some serious crash bugs, both on the client and server side, identified important issues for research and further strengthened our testing methods.
We are now beginning a new and short Alpha 8 phase of testing. This testing is mainly aimed at testing server code changes and updates, but also stress and load balancing the game. We therefore ask for your assistance once again.
The first test will be on tomorrow. It will start Saturday the 10th of August at 12.00am (GMT) and finish Sunday the 11th of August, at 12.00am (GMT). Close to 1000 participants could be joining in the alpha test, if server status allows.
Remember to visit The Medusa Testing Forum, where you can enter and discuss issues with testing and propose ideas. The Medusa Testing Forum is accessible from The Medusa Website: <edited out>.
Bug reports can also be entered from the Medusa web.
We want also to remind you that there is an active IRC channel set up for this project, where people come together to exchange views on the game, for news on testing and to get help from GMs and experienced testers. The path for the software is:
http://www.mirc.co.uk. When you start it you have to connect to an IRC server: irc.stratics.com - further instructions can be found on the medusa forum in this post: <edited out>
We will give further information tomorrow on the test´s arrangements.
See you in the world of EVE!
