General rule in Islam is that you cannot kill anyone unless they
have broken a specific rule. For example:
1. Death penalty: this can be applied when there is 100% guarntee
and no doubt. However in the case of murder the victims relatives
have the right to forgive the man
2. In war: it was always the policy of Prophet Muhammad, upon whom
be peace, to avert war, and even the killing of people. But when
necessity in war, it happened.
3. Outside war situations, and outside situations where there is a
legal issue e.g. murder, Muslims are NOT allowed to go killing non-
Muslims.
4. Other instances include Apostacy where there is disagreement.
Some say if a person apostates from Islam the death penalty applies,
others say that the death penalty only applied to a handful of
people who were actively attacking Islam, and not to majority of
those who left Islam. So difference of opinion on this.
The most misquoted verse of the Quran is where Allah tells the
Muslims to fight the disbelievers. First off this fighting refereed
to a specific incident. Secondly this verse as well as being
speicifc to that incident can be interpretated as being general, and
in this case figurative, not literal, where 'fighting' can be a
number of different ways.
There is, as far as I know, and Allah and those with knowledge know
best, no verse ANYWHERE in the Quran that says that a Muslim can go
round killing non-Muslims, just because they happen to be non-
Muslims.
If you ask that guy about the verses he has, maybe we can try and
address them one by one, and so remove the incorrect interpretation
he has of Islam?
