Aangezien er in het discussie topic continue vragen, opmerkingen, etc over de perfomance geplaatst wordt, is het maar tijd voor een algemeen topic. Dus alle perfomance gerelateerde vragen over GTA4 hier plaatsen.
Ik zal ook proberen alle tips bij te werken die in dit topic gepost wordt.
1. Disable Video Recording
- Start the game and goto Options > Game > Video Recording and set it too off. This will stop the hitching and provide a good boost to your frame rate.
2. Disable Superfetching in Vista
- Run services.msc > Superfetch > Properties > Startup Type: Disable > Restart your computer.
3. Disable all unneeded services / start up programs
- Start > msconfig > Check Hide all Microsoft Services > Uncheck everything. Goto Startup and disable everything (you do not have to disable Rockstar Games Social Club).
4. Full Screen Blur
- While ingame press "P" (confirmed to work for some people)
5. Higher FSB (ADVANCED USERS ONLY)
- Lower your multiplier in the BIOS and increase your FSB to achieve stock clock rates for your CPU. This does lead to increases in frame rate. Going from stock 266x9 to 400x6 gave me a 7fps increase. (GEVAARLIJK!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
6. Install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5
- http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netf.../aa569263.aspx
7. Ensure Video Memory is GREEN
- Even with autoconfig settings sometimes you will be yellow, lower your draw distance until you are green. This also prevents the video memory crash error from ever happening.
8. Move pagefile to another Hard Drive that GTA 4 is not on.
- If you only have one HD this does not apply. This also should not matter if you have 4GB or more of system memory.
9. Turn off Windows Search
- - Run services.msc > Windows Search > Properties > Startup Type: Disable > Restart your computer.
Other tips;
1. Uninstall Your current videocard drivers, then run "DriverCleaner". Goto nVidia or ATI's website and download the latest WHQL drivers and install them after a reboot.
2. Ensure you have your motherboards latest chipset drivers. Use CPU-Z to see what motherboard you have, then goto the manufactures website and look for the chipset drivers. You could also goto Intel or AMD's websites if you know your chipset models.
3. Defrag your harddrive
4. Window out of GTA IV, ALT+CTRL+DEL, right click GTA4.exe and set priority to High.
UNCONFIRMED AT THE MOMENT
1. AMD Processors must install AMD Fusion (Beta) for better perfomance.
