A nip here, a tuck there. The biggest change is the dropping of IDE RAID support in favour of SATA. The Sil3114 offers 4 full SATA channels which the board duly makes good use of, giving you 4 physical ports to hang your drives from. The chip does RAID0 and RAID1 on all channels, giving you decent flexibility in your disk configuration. You can run seperate RAID levels on two channel pairs, as far as I can make out without explicit testing anyway. The lack of physical IDE ports for the old Highpoint chip on the old board means a layout change for the B revision, I'll talk about that on the following page.

Issues
1) De ruimte rondom de socket
Die is krap. De volgende (onscherpe doch functionele) foto zal veel verduidelijken:

Vanaf hier gezien zit er linksboven een laag chipje naast de socket, door de gebruikte constructie van zalman heb ik er geen last van, de koeler wordt aangedraaid op de 2 dwarsverbindingen. Van andere gebruikers heb ik gehoord dat ze met wat washers onder de steunconstructie werken om te voorkomen dat dit chipje wordt geplet.

2) 2,0 volt is momenteel het maximale van de Vcore, zonder mod
Hier (op GoT) werd er geopperd dat deze d.m.v. een bios update verhoogd kan worden, ik heb hier nog niks overgelezen! Zodra ik iets concreets weet zal ik het hier posten. Tot die tijd is het misschien een idee om na te gaan denken over een eventuele mod.
3) Grote fluctuaties op de 5 en 12 volt rail
Ik heb er zelf geen last van (TrueControl) maar het wordt wel genoemd in de diverse fora. Ik heb me er niet in verdiepd omdat ik er geen last van heb. Het staat wel als puntje op mijn agenda om het mee te nemen.
4) Memoryproblemen
Heb ik ook geen last van, ik gebuik dus A-data oem wat waarschijnlijk geen BH-5 chippies zijn. Het blijkt dat reepjes beplakt met winbond het beste werken op deze plank. Hiervoor geldt weer hetzelfde als voor het vorige punt, geen last van staat op de agenda

Gedaan op LANPARTY NFII ULTRA B met bios LPNFIIULB1127 (laatste bios bij DFI zelf):
Processor: AMD 1700 XP Th-B. Zonder aanpassing om deze 133 op 166/200 standaard te laten draaien!
2 x 256 MB A-Data DDR3200 (dual channel, 2 en 3)

Dit laatste werkte voor mij het beste, met de nieuwste beta bios** kun je beter 1 en 3 combineren.
nb: 1 reepje in 1 gaat ook als een speer, weinig minder dan dualchannel kwa prestaties in Sandra.

A nip here, a tuck there. The biggest change is the dropping of IDE RAID support in favour of SATA. The Sil3114 offers 4 full SATA channels which the board duly makes good use of, giving you 4 physical ports to hang your drives from. The chip does RAID0 and RAID1 on all channels, giving you decent flexibility in your disk configuration. You can run seperate RAID levels on two channel pairs, as far as I can make out without explicit testing anyway. The lack of physical IDE ports for the old Highpoint chip on the old board means a layout change for the B revision, I'll talk about that on the following page.

Issues
1) De ruimte rondom de socket
Die is krap. De volgende (onscherpe doch functionele) foto zal veel verduidelijken:

Vanaf hier gezien zit er linksboven een laag chipje naast de socket, door de gebruikte constructie van zalman heb ik er geen last van, de koeler wordt aangedraaid op de 2 dwarsverbindingen. Van andere gebruikers heb ik gehoord dat ze met wat washers onder de steunconstructie werken om te voorkomen dat dit chipje wordt geplet.

2) 2,0 volt is momenteel het maximale van de Vcore, zonder mod
Hier (op GoT) werd er geopperd dat deze d.m.v. een bios update verhoogd kan worden, ik heb hier nog niks overgelezen! Zodra ik iets concreets weet zal ik het hier posten. Tot die tijd is het misschien een idee om na te gaan denken over een eventuele mod.
3) Grote fluctuaties op de 5 en 12 volt rail
Ik heb er zelf geen last van (TrueControl) maar het wordt wel genoemd in de diverse fora. Ik heb me er niet in verdiepd omdat ik er geen last van heb. Het staat wel als puntje op mijn agenda om het mee te nemen.
4) Memoryproblemen
Heb ik ook geen last van, ik gebuik dus A-data oem wat waarschijnlijk geen BH-5 chippies zijn. Het blijkt dat reepjes beplakt met winbond het beste werken op deze plank. Hiervoor geldt weer hetzelfde als voor het vorige punt, geen last van staat op de agenda

Voorlopige bevindingen (resultaten) van mijzelf
Gedaan op LANPARTY NFII ULTRA B met bios LPNFIIULB1127 (laatste bios bij DFI zelf):
Processor: AMD 1700 XP Th-B. Zonder aanpassing om deze 133 op 166/200 standaard te laten draaien!
2 x 256 MB A-Data DDR3200 (dual channel, 2 en 3)

Dit laatste werkte voor mij het beste, met de nieuwste beta bios** kun je beter 1 en 3 combineren.
nb: 1 reepje in 1 gaat ook als een speer, weinig minder dan dualchannel kwa prestaties in Sandra.
