Ik had nooit verwacht dat dit topic zo snel zou verlopen, alleen jammer dat ik niet één link van iemand gehad heb om in de openingspost te verwerken.
Regelmatig zie je door het topic heen toch nog bepaalde vragen over een linkje dat ergens tussendoor geschoten is.
Dus als er een interesante link gevonden is stuur hem even door zodat deze weer makkelijk terug te vinden is voor een ander die er belang bij kan hebben.

Differences I
The first and most obvious difference between the V1.0 and the others is the addition of Cooler mount holes.
Those of you with such coolers in mind will be happy that they will work with the newer NF7-S.
The is one thing to watch for, there is a little chip very close to the bottom right hole as you are looking at it.
This is supposed to be the improved clearance from the short lived V1.1 but I still think it may be too close for comfort.
Because the holes take up valuable board real estate, a bit of rearranging had to be done with the capacitors.
Thankfully this doesn’t affect stability in any way. This shot also shows the change in position for the capacitors.
Both boards are using 3 Phase power supplies and make use of the extra P4 12V supply.
Many Athlon boards are making use of this connector nowadays.
The older V1.0 board used the RealTek Physical layer interface for the Firewire, the newer boards use a Texas Instruments chip.
In the boards I had, I checked out the versions on the SATA controllers, both the newer boards are using V1.21 of the controller.
Again no performance difference between the new and old was noticed.
Although it make no measurable difference in performance or temperature, the newer boards have MCP-Ts make in KOREA as opposed to Taiwan.
This was not just a random chance, as I have seen quite a few of each version and it holds true.
There is an added jumper behind the network port, contrary to what some may thing, this is not a FSB reset or recovery mode.
Its function is a bit more mundane, This jumper allows your USB optical mice to turn off completely when set. Similar in function to
the one near the keyboard port. Those of you worried about your BIOS, well this newer board version has been altered so the corruption cannot occur.

The NF7-S Version 2 has the newer 200MHz certified nForce2 SPP. As you can see it is quite different in appearance and better yet, it is completely flat. The older chipsets were not always perfectly flat and lead to crashing at high FSB setting due to improper cooling.
Newer capacitors are on V1.2 and 2.0, and they are bigger in value also. 3300uF on the new boards and 2200uF on the old V1.0 board. In fact most of the capacitors on the board have increased in rating and physical size from a rating of 16V 100uF to 25V 100uF.
