ik zal even kijken wat ik kan doen voor de review van de Kenwood THX select 9060D
Ok hier speciaal op verzoek van Robbie007 de review van de Kenwood KRF-9060D
bron : what hi fi Oktober 2002
"WHAT WE HAVE here is the most affordable THX surround EX receiver you can buy.
And by some margin, too.....
In this cut-throat market, you need a technical edge to survive, let alone thrive.
But Kenwood has got all the bases covered -the KRF-9060D has an extensive array of performance-enhancing features, including six channels of amplification, each rated at 100W. Like its forebear, the KRF-X9050D, the new model is a THX Select certified device, and this, when coupled with decoding for Dolby Digital Surround EX, DTS-ES Matrix 6.1 and DTS-ES Discrete 6.1, gives the new Kenwood its unique selling proposition.
What's more, the old model was cursed with horrible curvy, plasticky styling.
Fortunately, the looks of this new model have been radically improved.
So the looks are right, the ingredients are mouthwatering - is the sound tasty too ?
Yup: this kenwood has the potential to get some of the opposition worried.
It's best employed with a THX Select speaker package like the Mordaunt-Short system reviewed below, although conventional speaker packages will also work.
Sonically the balance is lusher than we are used to from Kenwood, with a strong sense of cohesion to surround-effects steering, decent front-to-back movements and considerable weight.

"The Kenwood has an amazing array of features packed inside it's casework, all for just 450 Pounds
It's still not warm-sounding- you'll be uplifted by the impacts as a jet gets shot down in "Behind Enemy Lines"- but there's enough control to keep a firm and decisive grip on bigger dynamics, as well as focus.
Engage six-speaker THX Surround EX mode ( which you can use with any input material, not just 'true' 6.1 signals) and the soundfield extends usefully behind your head, too, adding better cohesion and scale-to-rear-effects shifts.
What's left ? Music isn;t really the Kenwood's biggest forte, although we found it coped well enough with 24/96 dvd audio material; stereo, on the other hand, lacks a bit of refinement, although there's enough energy to drive through Photek's intense drum 'n' bass grooves with abandon.
In the quest for succes, Kenwood has replaced a less-than-popular receiver with a new model that boasts enhaces styling, features and performance, all for just 50 pound's more. In our books, that's a great deal.
"leading rivals's Marantz sr 5200, Denon AVR-1802.
Kenwood KRF 9060D ( 5 sterren= max price performance rating)
"For" Outstanding features;

"against" Par-for-the-course

"verdict" Highly competitive,
and in certain areas, class-leading; a strong entry
into a very hard-fought field.
