Verhaal
Een serie met een hoogst explosieve mix: ultra-gewelddadige motorbendes, illegale wapenhandel, drugsdealers, omkoping, een verhaal met Shakespeariaanse allures, cultacteur Ron Perlman Alien Resurrection, Hellboy, Hellboy 2: the Golden Army en Married with Children-actrice Katey Sagal. Sons of Anarchy is een creatie van Kurt Sutter, scenarist en producer van The Shield.De Sons of Anarchy is een motorbende die het stadje Charming in haar greep heeft. Onder leiding van Clay Morrow (rol van Perlman) verdienen ze de kost met illegale wapenhandel. Ze houden het stadje graag vrij van rivaliserende bendes, drugsdealers en overijverige politieagenten.
Kurt Cobain lookalike Charlie Hunnam speelt de hoofdrol als Jackson Jax Teller, vicepresident van de motorclub, die heen en weer geslingerd wordt tussen zijn loyaliteit aan de club en zijn groeiende afkeer voor de misdaad. Dat dreigt tot conflicten te leiden met zijn stiefvader Clay, de baas van de club. terwijl zijn moeder en de president van de club juist een donkere koers willen varen.
Hoofdrolspelers
Jackson 'Jax' Teller
Jax is the son of Gemma and John Teller and was born in 1978, and raised in Charming, California. His father died in 1993 and his mother got re-married to Clay Morrow, now the President of Sons of Anarchy. He has a genetic heart disorder which he inherited from his mother. His younger brother, Thomas, died of this condition when he was young. He is of partial Irish and Russian Jewish descent on his mother's side. He carries a KA-BAR USMC fighting knife on his waistband.
Motorcycle
Jax rides a 2003 Harley Davidson Dyna Super Glide Sport. His bike features a black powder coated engine and a tape wrapped exhaust. Like most of the the other members with Dynas, Jax's bike has the front drag fairing. His fuel tank sports the reaper, fading towards the back of the tank. He has custom T-Bars with high risers for handlebars.
Clarence 'Clay' Morrow
Morrow was born in 1949 and is a native of Charming, California.[1] In 1967, he was one of nine members who formed the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club. He was the youngest of the first nine, and one of only three who were not war veterans. He did later go on to serve in the military, however, joining the Army Airborne in 1969 and serving in Vietnam until 1972. He commemorates his service with a tattoo on his left arm and by displaying the parachutist badge on his vest.
When he returned from Vietnam, he reconnected with the club. He and John Teller, the club President and his best friend, opened the Teller-Morrow auto shop.
Motorcycle
Clay's motorcycle is a 2008 Harley Davidson Dyna Super Glide with a foward facing canon air filter, taped thunderheader exhaust and a 96 cubic inch twin cam motor. On his fuel tank is the reaper and both the top and bottom rockers of his charter. Clay's reaper design is similar to the one on Jax's bike. Clay has custom T-Bars and high risers for his handlebars. Like most of the SAMCRO motorbikes he has the drag fairing on the front.
Tara Knowles
Tara is a native of Charming, California. (She says her heritage is half-Irish.) Tara's mother died when she was nine years old. She was Jax's high-school girlfriend, and during this era she got a crow tattoo on her lower back representing her connection to SAMCRO. Tara was arrested in Jax's company at least three times in 1996. Tara left town when Jax was 19, trying to get away from small-town life and the heavy-handed influence of the club. According to Gemma this all but broke Jax's heart. After leaving Charming she moved in with a cousin of her father's who lived in San Diego, studied at UC San Diego where she graduated with honors, attended medical school in Chicago (Feinberg Medical School at Northwestern University according to her file in "Fun Town" but "Loyola Med" according to Agent Stahl in "Better Half,") where she was at the top of her class, and then went on to her internship in Chicago Presbyterian.
Gemma Teller Morrow
Gemma was born circa 1957 and is a native of Charming, California. She was married to John Teller, a Vietnam War veteran and founder of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, with whom she had two children: Jackson 'Jax' Teller born in 1978 and Thomas Teller born in 1984. Gemma has a genetic heart disorder which she passed on to her children, and of which Thomas died from in 1990. After John was hit by a semi-truck and died in 1993, she married John's friend Clay Morrow. She is of Irish and Russian Jewish descent.
Harry 'Opie' Winston
Harry 'Opie' Winston is a member of the MC known as the Sons of Anarchy. His father Piermont was also a member of the club and one of the First 9.
Motorcycle
Opie's bike is close to Jax's bike in many ways. It is a 2003 Harley Davidson Dyna Super Glide Sport with Front drag fairing, taped thunderheader exhaust and a custom badlander seat. Opie has embraced the SOA logo on a pile of skulls for his paint on the fuel tank. The engine has been black powder coated. He has drag bars with high risers for handlebars instead of the T-Bars that are common among the rest of the club.
Bobby 'Elvis' Munson
Munson's father was an accountant in Reno, Nevada, and kept two sets of books for the Mafia. Bobby apparently learned accounting from him. He is Jewish and does Elvis Presley impersonations in Lake Tahoe, leading to him sometimes being referred to as Elvis. He is the Secretary of the Sons of Anarchy. This means that he is responsible for all of the club's financial matters. As one of the club's calmer members, he frequently finds himself having to try and calm tensions among his friends. He was formerly married to Precious Ryan and they have a son, "Tiki" Munson. He also has a second un-named ex-wife, referenced only once in the pilot.
Motorcycle
obby has 3 motorcycles. His first bike is a custom, built on a hard tail frame, with mini ape hangers and a solo springer seat. The front springer forks have been raked heavily to give the bike the classic chopper look along with the laced wheels. This bike is not a true Harley. It is a custom, built from the ground up. This bike has either an Evolution engine, or an aftermarket engine such as one from S & S (it has an S & S air filter) and it runs an open belt primary drive.Unlike the rest of the club Bobby isone of the few members without the front drag fairing.
Bobby also has a Harley Davidson Softail Fat Boy, with an Evolution engine, that he has only used in 1 episode, this may be because it doesnt really work at 100%.
Alex 'Tig' Trager
Alex 'Tig' Trager is a member of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club's Charming, California charter and is the club's most violent member. Trager is extremely fond of women, and is a mechanic in both meanings of the word. He is extremely loyal to Clarence 'Clay' Morrow, Clay's wife Gemma and the club itself. He has a strained love/hate relationship with Jackson 'Jax' Teller arising from his use of violence in situations which may not call for it. His often callous demeanor hides a person with unlikely sensitivity and strong loyalty. Plus he really HATES dolls.
Motorcycle
Tig has a 2006 Harley Davidson Dyna Street Bob with a lot of customization. He has the twin cam 96 cubic inch motor and custom Harley air filter. The bike sports a lot of skulls and spikes in various places. These along with the engine are in chrome. This much chrome heavily contrasts with Tigs choice of matte black
Tig's Bike paint instead of the vivid black the rest of the cast have. Tig has a simple S.O.A. on his fuel tank instead of an elaborate reaper/rocker combination that is common among the club. Like Clay, Tig has the custom T-Bars with high risers. He has a matte black painted thunderheader exhaust and a bobbed front fender.
Wayne Unser
Chief Wayne Unser is the Chief of the Charming Police Department, but is also corrupt in that he deals with the Sons of Anarchy whom he sees as a benefit to the town. Because the Sons successfully keep drugs and violence out of Charming, and protect the population from many other unwanted things like ruthless developers, such as Deputy Hale's older brother Jacob Hale Jr..
