Ik vond wat informatie, van hoe je de firmware van je onkyo 308/508 zelf kunt updaten.

ik heb het zelf niet geprobeerd om dat mijn reciever al onderweg is naar ce repear naar aanleiding van dit probleem,

Connect the receiver to a monitor through HDMI cable. Turn on the receiver. Press and hold "Display" button on front panel of the receiver and then press "Standby” button.
You will see Main, DSP and OSD versions as below on the monitor screen.
DSP Upgrade Procedure:
1. Download the zipped file. Unzip zipped WAV file and burn a CD-R with the WAV file as “Audio
disc”.
2. Use optical cable to connect a CD player (optical output) to Optical input 1 of receiver.
3. Turn on both CD player and AV Receiver.
4. Select CD function in the receiver by pressing CD button on the front panel. Go to “Setup”
menu and select “Optical1” as digital input for CD.
5. Press and hold "Display" button on front panel of the receiver and then press "Standby" button.
You will see Main firmware version in the front display. Now, press Tone ”+” button. DSP
firmware will be displayed in the front display. Next, press “Return” button on the front panel. You
see in the front display: TOTAL/AUTO
6. Press “Tuning down ” button. You will see in the front display: MAIN/AUTO
7. Press “Tuning down” button again. You will see in the front display: DSP/AUTO
8. Press ENTER button on the front panel. You will see: S/PDIF Update …
9. Now, insert the created audio disc in the CD player and press play button on the CD player.
10. The receiver will start writing the firmware. Wait until, complete disc is played.
11. After disc is finished playing, wait for couple of minutes and see if any changes occur in the
front display. When FW upgrade is finished, the unit will shut-off by itself.
12. Check DSP version as explained above.
Note:
a) If upgrade is not possible, with above procedure, then in Step 5, when you see TOTAL/AUTO,
you may change AUTO by using Tuning Left/Right keys, until you see “OPT1”.
b) Also, note that, if you would like to upgrade only Main firmware, then, you can use Tuning up/
down buttons to change “TOTAL” to “MAIN”.
c) Instead of optical cable, you can use coaxial cable. In this case, select “COAX1” by using
Tuning left/right buttons. And, select “Coaxial 1” as digital input for CD in Step 4.
