Hello Jasper,
Thank you for contacting Intel(R) Technical Support.
I understand that your wireless connection is unstable.
As part of troubleshooting we recommend to try connecting to a different network using a different access point to see if the problem persists.
Also try removing and reinstalling the drivers for the Intel(R) WiFi Link 5300, we recommend installing the drivers posted on Lenovo’s* website.
Please be aware that the information you have provided indicates that you have an OEM computer.
Once that any Intel(R) component is integrated and customized by the computer Manufacturer it is consider an (OEM) Original Equipment Manufacturer Product.

Issue: Dear sir/madam,
I'm experiencing frequent internet connection drop outs and troubles to get connected to the internet when I start my laptop.
I use a:
Thinkpad T400
Wireless router which works flawless with all other laptops
Intel(R) WiFi Link 5300 AGN
Wep security
It's been going on for a couple of months now and I haven't been able to find a solution on several forums. Since I am not the only one who is experiencing these troubles with the 5300 WiFi adapter I'm sure the problem lies with the adapter/drivers. I tried connecting to the internet in another network (with another router: belkin) and I experienced the same issues.
Here you can see there are more troubles with the 5300 adapter (also in other laptops):

I've downloaded the driver here:

I hope Intel is coming up with a driver solution quick. Any tips are welcome.
Waiting for your respons,
Jasper ...
