Allen,
The big "Farewell to dba" Flyin in Germany!!!
September 7th, 2003 is going to see one of the largest flyins to be held
this year in Germany. As the "Deutsche BA" (dba) has been sold by British
Airways to a private german investor, "British Airways VA" will drop the dba
routes from it´s schedule after that date. Now British Airways Virtual and
VACC-SAG have teamed together to celebrate this date and to say "farewell"
to dba a last time.
Beginning at 1700Z, not less than 33 ATC positions will be staffed in
Germany, and full ATC is to be given in EDDT Berlin, EDDH Hamburg, EDDV
Hannover, EDLP Paderborn, EDDL Duesseldorf, EDDK Koeln, EDDF Frankfurt, EDDS
Stuttgart, EDDN Nuernberg and EDDM Muenchen. British Airways Virtual alone
has booked around 200 flights to be flown during the event, and we expect
even more VA´s and single pilots from all over Europe to join us. This will
truely create the "Onesky Feeling" on german skies.
The VACC-SAG Flightplan Center, reachable at
http://fpc.vacc-sag.org holds
up-to-date flight routings for all connections to germany from Europe, and
you may request missing routes by using the "Routing Request" function. As
we expect very high traffic it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to use only the routes
provided there. Incorrect routings may cause delay and you have to expect to
be re-routed in-flight. Charts for all german airports are available via the
VACC-SAG webpage here:
http://www.vacc-sag.org.
The whole VACC-SAG ATC team wishes all participants a great event, always
blue skies and three greens on final!
Tschuess,
Martin Georg
