Hi all ,just finest my new mousepad.
Here are the pics with the explenation of how i made it.
(If my english writing is not to good "BUMMER")
First i got a pease of perplex.and draw a mousepad(little bigger) on it.
then i cut the perplex out.
Then i rounded the eathes of .
Then i smooded the sides of with a wetstone(for knifes).
I both 18 led's (red) and some wire and shrinkthingy for over the wire.
The led's are 5 milimeter big ,but the perplex is just 3 mm.So with a dremel i cut of the sides so they got 3 mm big.
After doing al of them i cut out the middle of the perplex and made a place for the leds on the side's of the perplex.
Then with a wheldergun i made 3 strings of 6 leds(1led=2 volts. going on a 12 volt powerswitch on my rig)
After testing i connected all the 3 strings.
Remember the first wire to the leds goes on the + side of the led.then connect a wire from the - side to the + on the next led.
Do that 5 times and make the last wire from the last led a black one(minus).see pictures.
Then i tested it and shouted a big YAY.
Then i fixed the leds in the perplex using normal seetruetape.
tested it again in the light and the dark(looked great)
Then i connected a long wire(1.5 meters) to the + and - wire .
Then i made of mall of the pad and used that to cut out the bottom for the pad using foam (like the bottom of a normal mousepad)
Using 2 sides sticky film"transparrent" i pasted the foam on the bottom.
Then i shoved the shrinkstingy over the wire and used a lighter to shrink it on the wire
After that i welded a jackplug on the end of the wire.
And welded the other pease of the jackplug on a wire,to go in my rig later.
Then i connected the jackplug and tested the circuit again.
I cut a mall of the pad out of the 2 sided sticky film and pasted it on the pad
Then i cleaned the glass mousepad i had have made by a glasscutter.
and pasted it on the pad.
I both some self sticking 3d film( there are tiny bumps on it for the mouse(optic) to read )and pasted it on the glass.
Then i build the jackplug connection in my rig.
And connected it to a 12 volt switch on my rig.
Ten i connected everything and this was the result.
Looks pretty good e?
It's a nice and fun thing to build a the cost's are not mutch.
the matterials costed about 18 euro's thats about 17 dollars.
and the glass (made by a firm) costed me 5 euro's about the same in dollars.
so for not to mucth money u have a pretty fine mod.
