Dear Majid,
I have no problem with the front audio. It all works fine
No, the problem is that the onboard Creative soundcard makes extra noises. Especialy when the PC has to work harder. Like starting Windows XP or playing sound while the CD is running. I was playing a game when the sound was freezing my PC for a second. It's known that older Via south bridges had some problems with the onboard soundcard. I have tried the Via latentcy patch for the older south bridges, but it gives only a high noice. So I unstalled the path. Disable DMA in Windows does not resolve my problem. Normal XP installation makes the PC an "ACPI computer". Somebody told me to install XP as an "Normal PC", but the result was the same.
I have installed:
- the latest Via 4in1 4.42 drivers
- Creative drivers from the motherboard CD
- the bios update from F7 to F9
- Windows XP (NTFS) 5 times
- Windows 98SE (FAT32) 2 times
My PC:
AMD Athlon 1800 XP
Gigabyte 7VRXP version 2.0 motherboard.
256Mb PC2700 333Mhz Kingston
Point of View Geforce 4 Ti4200 64Mb
Lite-on DVD and CDRW
Aopen Miditower 300Watt with frontbus for USB and Audio
Creative speakers
Can I resolve this with an setting in the bios. Is there a patch for this. On Dutch forum talks (tweakers.net) I've noticed that there are a lot of people with this sound problem. But nobody has an answer, they just disable the onboard soundcard en buy a new one. But I want to use the onboard soundcard. Is it a bug or is it broken?
Best Regards,
Maarten.
