2666mhz is helemaal niet nodig in de DSx20+ units (in tegenstelling tot wat sommigen lijken te beweren) , aangezien het standaard geheugen ook slechts op 2400mhz draait . Enkel opletten dat je dual rank memory neemt wanneer je een latje met meer dan 8Gbyte bijsteekt .
Ik heb ook de Memtest gedraaid en volledig doorlopen met melding dat memory test geslaagd is . (Memtest passed!)

Zoals je ziet , 2666 latje draait gewoon mee met het gesoldeerde onboard geheugen . kan natuurlijk nooit sneller dan 2400 werken want dan zou je het onboard geheugen op 1 of andere manier moeten overlocken .

Ook dit crucial latje een synology memtest laten doorlopen , en alles OK . (minder schokkend misschien dan de Timetec module die ik eerder gepost heb , aangezien van dit crucial geheugen al gekend was dat het samenwerkt met de DSx20 reeks)

Vorig jaar mijn 920+ gekocht en toen gezocht welk Crucial geheugen op voorraad was kwam dus bij een 2666MT/s Mac certified bankje uit maar boeiend werkt in elk geval prima!

Voorheen hetzelfde reepje in gebruik op een DS220+. Op die DS220+ heb ik toen wel een memory test laten draaien die probleemloos werd afgerond. Aangezien de DS920+ praktisch dezelfde NAS is (maar dan met een CPU net één treetje hoger en vier ipv twee bays) denk ik dat ik dat hier niet hoef te doen.

Ik heb hier een probleem mee. Het draait eigenlijk al een jaar goed. Maar zodra ik meer dan 4 GB wil gebruiken krijg ik foutmeldingen. Bijvoorbeeld een extra VM aanmaken lukt niet, omdat er niet genoeg geheugen beschikbaar zou zijn (er is 5 GB vrij). Ook Docker geeft soms geheugenfoutmeldingen. Het stoppen van containers of services helpt niet.

Ik heb enkele aangeraden aanpassingen gedaan aan sysctl.conf en synoinfo.conf en weet even niet hoe ik dit zou kunnen oplossen. Iemand een idee? @JackBol misschien?

Deze module is "Made for Mac" gekocht door het positieve resultaat van Heisenbug hierboven.

Deze module is altijd Dual Rank, want de DS920+ pakt geen Single Rank.

Bij het type CT16G4SFRA266 dus zonder postfix kan je Dual of Single Rank krijgen (er zijn meerdere versies van dié module wat Crucial non-rank agnostic noemt) en ben je dus niet zeker of het werkt. Daarom is het beter een module mét postfix te zoeken en te onderzoeken of dat Dual rank is zodat je zeker weet wat je krijgt en dat het werkt.

Net Memtest via Synology Assistant gedraaid, dat duurde 3:15 !! en leverde geen fouten op. Voor de zekerheid heb ik nadat de DS920+ weer normaal ge-reboot was ook nog in de log files (lokatie: /var/log/messages) gezocht en daarin óók "Memtest passed!" (3x) gevonden.

Hier is die van mij (Crucial RAM 4GB DDR4 2666 MHz CL19 Laptop Memory CT4G4SFS8266).

Deze heeft een jaar goed gewerkt totdat ik 3 maal in 3 dagen een Checksum mismatch kreeg. Uit verder testen is gebleken dat de on-board RAM de fouten veroorzaakt en niet succesvol door die Memtest komt.
De Crucial komt wel door alle tests (apart getest op een laptop met Memtest).

Nu krijg ik dus Memtest failed! err=4 en soms Memtest failed! err=6 wanneer ik Memtest draai.

Waar kan de melding over non-Synology memory module vinden? Testing mem..
Omdat ik zelf een beetje huiverig was of ik wel de juiste module heb gekocht, hier de link naar amazon van mijn module.

Klopt de DS920+ ? Kom meerdere malen tegen dat die betreffende module niet werkt. Ik heb hem zelf ook gekocht voor een DS920+ via jouw link en bij mij boot hij ook niet.

Edit: ook op een andere DS920+ getest, geen boot.
De module omgewisseld voor de Crucial CT16G4SFD824A, deze werkt wel goed.

Heb deze al een keer getest in mijn DS220+. Vandaag geupgrade naar de DS920+, en ja hoor; doet het ook hier perfect! Totaal 20 GB RAM en geen problemen.

G-Skill module, had deze nog liggen dus beter gebruiken dan, hiervoor zat er een module uit een Dell laptop in (en daar gebruikte ik de G-Skill kit in) en die deed het verder ook zonder issues.
