After pulling your leg I will make it up to you guys with my n00bguide for online racing in GTR...
N00bguide for Online Racing in GTR version 1.00
A few words to get familiar with:
“Simulation”: Aidless arcade.
“Arcade”: Simulation of AI.
“Multiplayer”: No, not multiple players, just you.
“Internet”: Some people say they discovered another world called “RL”, ignore them, they’re sick.
“IP/Direct link”: Internet Police, stay away from this if you got a illegal copy.(you’ll be trapped by the direct link).
Ok, once you got online(*), a few important things to check:
(*=see “Networking For n00bs”, chapter 1 to 600 +appendix a to d)
1.Turn your monitor on.
This is very important cuz you will actually SEE your opponents, or better: “targets”
You can also see the corner instead of just crashing blind into it and hope for a good lap (mostly not, surprising huh?) more about that later.
If your monitor is already turned on, adjust the brightness until you see some moving things: these are your targets.
If something else is moving, hold your steeringwheel into straight position.
If it still moves, keep BOTH hands on the wheel and show some more interest dude.
If you still can’t steer straight, put the slider of your ForceFeedback from 2000% to 20%.
2. Steeringwheel
A steeringwheel is a device which can make a car in GTR to turn left or right.
Why do you actually need a steeringwheel?
Well, it comes in very handy when the grey path starts to look green or light-brown.
When you actually figured out that the sign read “50” instead of “200” it means you’ll end up in the sand in LESS than 50 meters.
To complete the corner, let the crashbarrier guide you.
That was the first corner, nice huh?
“The only use of corners on a circuit is to get start- and finishline together”, remember that.
Steeringwheels are sometimes equiped with pedals:
-Right pedal: to get the car moving (not necessarily instantly straight forward though as you may have discovered already).
-Left pedal : DON’T TOUCH IT! It’s completely uselless.
You’ll need the speed in the sand for a good lap so braking is a waste of speed.
3 Gridposition
Try to qualify in the middle: lot of action going on there when the light’s green.
And it’s always coming on faster than you expect, it’s kinda magic!
When you make it through this “Hé-I-can-see-your-eyebrows”, you will probably need a pitstop.
Good for getting to know the different colors of the cars: “Oh look, there’s that Ferrari where I crashed into: helloooo simbrother!” (do NOT ever apologise!).
4 Raceline
The raceline is the most appropriate spot on the track to meet other people who love to race on line
No, I didn’t say online...
5 Pitcrew messages
Ignore these.
It’s just your girlfriend who wants you to get away from that computer.
We call it “Bitchin’ Betty” cuz she thinks she knows best…well, she doesn’t.
6 Flags
-Red: Only hit red cars (it’s spelled: F-E-R-R-A-R-I...).
-Green: Only hit trees (well, crash barriers will do also).
-Yellow: Finally, the targets are about to come into view!
-Blue: Apparently, you missed one and got a second chance!
-White: You’ve hit everything, now they surrender, good job!
-Black: Opposite of white, go get ‘m tiger!
-Black&white: They don´t know if they will surrender yet, keep on driving!
-Yellow+red stripes: More grip added to that section (wave, they are your friends!).
7 Set-ups
There are only two set-ups:
1. Fast set-up.
2. Slower set-up.
If you wanna go fast, choose 1.
If someone else has set-up 1, bad luck bro, take the other one.
As you can see, it’s very important to join as soon as possible.
Servercrashes? They’re not your fault.
8 Pitstops
You don’t know what “limiter” means, so get to your pit asap (that means: floor it!).
Oh, and ignore the “stop-and-go-penalty” afterwards, it really sets you back in position, so skip it.
“Last” will remain “last”, so why bother?
Well, I think you’re an expert by now,
Good luck!
Run Forest, RUN!!!

I hope you like it.
If you do: great!
