De diode zit wel op de P4, maar dat zit in het 'thermal control ciruit'. En dat de thermal monitoring d8 ik.
Wat wel heel verwarrend is, is dat de lijst met features van zowel Intel als AMD is. De feature 'Temperature sensing diode' slaat in dit geval alleen op AMD processoren.
Hier zal ik een scheiding in aanbrengen. Waarschijnlijk dat als je Intel hebt, je de AMD features niet ziet. En andersom natuurlijk

versie geupdate. Hopelijk is het zo wat duidelijker.

Je tooltje denkt dat mijn overclockte XP 1700+ een echte XP 2000+ is... het is volgens mij mogelijk voor een CPU-ID tool om te zien welke processor je echt hebt en om dan te zeggen dat je aan het overklokken bent... of heb ik dat fout?

Dit is wel degelijk een foutje, want een deel van het herschrijven is juist gaan zitten in het herkennen van niet standaard desktop modellen. En zo zou een mobile ook herkend moeten worden als mobile. 1 specifiek mobile PIII model kon ik echter nog niet apart onderscheiden, en wordt weergegeven als gewone PIII met bijbehorende specs. CPUID v0.6 geeft 2 dingen weer; 'Processor' en 'Name string'. Processor is wat het progje bedenkt aan de hand van bepaalde registers in de CPU. De name string komt uit de BIOS. Deze tekst wordt dus niet bedacht door mijn progje. Klopt dit niet, dan heeft je BIOS waarschijnlijk een update nodig. Het ziet er naar uit dat bij overclocken de BIOS simpelweg kijkt naar de snelheid en dat vergelijkt met een tabel waar 1700+/1800+/2000+/enz instaat. En dit vind je dan weer in de namestring.

Welke BIOS (fabrikant en versie) hebben jullie? De praktijk heeft nu bewezen dat de BIOS de name string van AMD processoren bepaald. Een update kan voor een beter resultaat zorgen.

Welke BIOS (fabrikant en versie) hebben jullie? De praktijk heeft nu bewezen dat de BIOS de name string van AMD processoren bepaald. Een update kan voor een beter resultaat zorgen.
Dit geldt ook als de 1700+/1800+/enz niet klopt!

In deze test wordt elke CPU eerst expliciet geselecteerd en dan pas de info opgevraagd. Dit in tegenstelling tot eerder, waarbij soms de ene CPU, soms de andere CPU aangesproken werd.
