Fraude tegengaan en daarmee de houdbaarheid van het cashbackprogramma bevorderen. Dit werd eerder vanavond op Telegram gepost door de Coca CEO:
"Hey everyone,
I want to take a moment and address reactions and feedback we’ve seen since the cashback update was announced.
I hear the frustration. Many of you feel disappointed, and some of you feel unheard. That matters to me and the Team. I want you to know we are listening – even when the feedback is tough.
The decision to remove COCA cashback for Curve and PayPal was driven by very real challenges: fraud and the sustainability of the cashback program. As the userbase grows: number of abuses have increased from 5% in August to 47% in January speсifically through PayPal or Curve. It's hard to prevent and almost impossible to eliminate completely.
We've faced a dilemma: either to reduce tier benefits for everyone or make Curve & PayPal ineligible for rewards.
The decision wasn’t made lightly. It wasn’t made without considering the impact on the community. At the same time, keeping the program healthy and longterm for everyone sometimes requires decisions that are unpopular in the moment.
I also want to be clear: this change isn’t permanent by definition. Certain limitations may be revisited in the future if conditions improve and we are confident they can be supported safely and responsibly. For now, this is what we believe is necessary to protect the broader ecosystem.
To those who supported us early and helped shape COCA from the beginning: we see you, and your voices carry weight. Today, we will anounce benefits designed specifically with our early community in mind. This isn’t about compensation – it’s about recognizing the trust you placed in us and showing that it truly matters.
Thank you for speaking up and I deeply apologize for the sad news."
