Potentiele auto koper uit Dublin, scam of niet?

Hoi Tweakers,

Ik sta op het punt om mijn auto te verkopen aan een buitelandse exporteur. Echter wil ik jullie advies vragen in hoever deze persoon te vertrouwen is en of ik niet mogelijk kan worden opgelicht.

Ik heb mijn auto op een aantal verkoopwebsites staan. Ik heb twee geïnteresseerde kopers gehad, een Nederlander die vervolgens niet meer reageert en dus een persoon uit Dublin. In het begin dacht ik hier niet op te reageren. Later dacht ik, zolang hij het geld eerst betaald kan er niks gebeuren.

In onderstaande mailverkeer heb ik mijn paypal "rekening" doorgegeven. Echter geeft hij aan of ik een paypal betaling wil sturen richting zijn e-mailadres. Het lijkt er op dat hier een verschil in zit. Als ik dit namelijk wil uitvoer wordt er aangegeven dat ik verkoperskosten moet betalen aan Paypal. Het lijkt er op dat dit 3,4 % is + €0,35 transactiekosten. Bij €7.500 is dat €255 euro..?

Ik vind het een beetje schimmig worden. Kan iemand mij advies geven in hoever ik de verkoop kan vertrouwen?

The Ford Fiesta is still for sale. The photos at the advertisement are from one week ago. In may last year the car had its last maintenance. The oil have been refreshed and the oil and air filter haven been replaced. No further service actions were needed.

The car is running as it supposed to. Nothing wrong with it. We are selling it because we don’t use it so often anymore.

Thanks for the response, I am happy to know the car is still available, I can see from what was already said on the advert and from your response that the vehicle is in good condition, I asked for details and pictures again after seeing the advert as am sure I will not be able to come see in person to inspect and so will need to know everything about the vehicle before agreeing to buying and I want to be sure there is no more to know about the car?.

What is the final price???I will need you to consider the fact that I will be responsible for the collection/pick up(through a shipper)and I will be covering the expenses and so I will need a fair price, Once we agree a deal on the vehicle, I will arrange for the payment to be sent to you and then the pick up is arranged after you have received the full payment.

When we are able to reach an agreement on the price, then I will make arrangements for the payment to be sent to you first and wait for you to receive the payment and when the payment is received and the funds are cleared then the pick up arrangements can be confirmed for the collection to happen. Payment will be transferred to you via PayPal and you wouldn't need to worry about the PayPal charges for the payment, I will cover the cost for the transfer/payment so you get the full funds paid to you

Do you already have experience with importing a car from the Netherlands? When the car will be picked up we need to arrange a certificate that the car will be exported. I need this certificate so I can cancel my insurance and some government taxes.

7500€ it is then, that is a fair price considering the condition, I will need the name and PayPal email address for the payment. One more thing I would like to confirm is that all the papers and documents are all complete and will be available when the vehicle is picked up?

About the documents, which documents do you mean exactly? We used to have a book about the performed maintenance. The car garage lost it. But we have a new document with the history of all the performed maintenance listed.

In what time frame do you expect to pick up the car?

Voor een auto van 7500 zou ik dit risico niet willen lopen. Er zijn vast wel Nederlandse kopers die hem wel willen hebben. Of het moet als butter by the fish.

Even googlen op die teksten in de mails en je komt op Modus operandi oplichting autokoper (Paypal)

Alles geeft vraagtekens bij deze persoon. Ik zou het risico niet willen lopen....

Een invoice/request in paypal maakt het mogelijk voor hem om een claim te openen, dus reken er maar niet op dat je dat geld ooit gaat krijgen. Zo boeiend is de auto ook niet, een fiesta is zo'n beetje de meest standaard hatchback in the UK/Ierland en die hebben daar allemaal het stuur ook nog eens aan de rechter kant. Kortom, dikke scam.

er zijn veel scams op deze manier, en de plaats Dublin komt vaak voor

wat er waarschijnlijk gebeurt is dat er na de "betaling" een tweede mail komt dat het geld is vast gehouden en dat je eerst de transporteur moet betalen via Western Union.

Pas als de transporteur betaald is zou jij je geld krijgen...

ook komt het voor dat het geld pas vrijgegeven wordt nadat jij de noodzakelijke documenten om de auto in te kunnen voeren in de UK overlegd hebt, wat via een "verzekerde"" verzending moet die betaald moet worden via tadaaa westen union.

dit is meestal gewoon 419 scam

Ford en met name een Fiesta vind je daar letterlijk op elke hoek van een straat in alle 101 versies die uitgebracht zijn. En wat al gezegd is, rijden daar links met stuur rechts.

Dit besef had ik ook, alleen blijkbaar doet dat geld toch iets met me. Vond het ook al bijzonder dat hij direct eens was met de prijs.. Blij dat ik dit bericht nog even heb gepost. Zorgt er toch weer voor dat ik met beide voeten weer op de grond sta.

Uiteraard een scam.
en als kleine verkoper zou ik nooit paypal gebruiken. Bij een claim ben je vrijwel altijd de sjaak.
