Ive got the hts 3357 and like to have digital surround from my laptop.
The HTS has the DTS digital surround and Dolby prologic II logos.
My laptop is an amilo pi 3540 with realtek alc888 integrated chip. According to the markings near the headphone output, it doubles as a s/pdif out.
When I insert a 3.5mm jack that has red/white cinch on the other end and insert the white one into the digital in of the HTS; my laptop asks me wat I inserted. I choose s/pdif.
In the realtek hd audio manager software I select digital out as default output device.
After selecting digital in as source on my hts, I should hear something, right? I expect at least stereo. But I don't hear a thing! What do you think is the problem?
Instead of inserting the white cinch into the digital in I also tried the red one; no effect.
Appreciate your help.

I now also dabbled with the AC3 filter settings. By default it says that SPDIF is disabled but when I use the output SPDIF as PCM, the decoder info reads
I still don't hear a thing; not even stereo. Any suggestions?
