[exim4] SMTP AUTH via externe IMAP

Ik ben nu een aantal dagen aan het prutsen om exim zover te krijgen dat hij SMTP authenticatie laat werken via een externe IMAP server. Het meest practische wat ik daar over heb gevonden tot nu toe is de beschrijving op de wiki:

Alleen steeds als ik hiermee probeer te authenticeren (zowel telnet als sendEmail commandline client):
