Pers bericht:

"May 9, 2006 – eDimensional, Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of innovative gaming accessories is pleased to announce the newest addition to the ultimate gaming product line, the G-Pad Pro Gyroscopic Gamepad. With proprietary VRMS (Virtual Reality Motion Sensing) technology, the G-Pad Pro delivers a next generation gaming experience to current model Playstation 2 consoles and PCs.

Featuring a robust 12 button analog configuration, the G-Pad Pro adds intuitive and precise motion sensing technology to improve gameplay performance in virtually any genre of gaming. Rotate the controller on multiple axes to gain four additional control options in three dimensional space. The result is advanced new movement functions and a smoother, more dynamic ability to control in-game action. Additionally, users may experience decreased hand fatigue compared to standard keyboards or controllers.

eDimensional CEO Michael Epstein states, “We’re positively thrilled to offer revolutionary motion tracking technology to the current generation of console platforms and games, allowing gamers take advantage of unique new control options for their favorite titles. We feel validated by the fact that the major console developers are embracing this technology as the future of gaming.”

The VRMS programmable driver allows users to set, save, and load custom settings on your PC, or adjust control sensitivity with the touch of a button on your PS2. Gamers can combine the control options of a mouse, keyboard, joystick and more onto a single multi-functional controller. Use the G-Pad Pro like a racing wheel or flight yoke, or sit back and put all of your input devices at your fingertips with added realism and precision. The G-Pad Pro also features dual-motor force feedback technology officially licensed from Immersion.

The G-Pad Pro is expected to start shipping in July 2006 direct through eDimensional and at a variety of retail distribution partners worldwide. Press inquiries and review requests should be directed to Christopher@eDimensional.com. A media kit and release details are now available to eligible parties. Retailers interested in selling the G-Pad Pro should contact sales@eDimensional.com.

Ik hoop dit apparaat te kunnen gebruiken als vervanger voor de muis in games.

Het lijkt volgens mij op de Wii-controller.

Weet iemand meer te melden over de eDimensional G-Pad Pro Gyroscopic Gamepad? :?

En dan dit nog:

"SAN JOSE, Calif., May 24, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Immersion Corporation (Nasdaq:IMMR), a leading developer and licensor of touch feedback technology, has granted eDimensional a patent license for advanced vibro-tactile, spinning-mass gaming technologies for use in PC and Sony PlayStation and PlayStation 2 gaming peripherals. eDimensional will include Immersion's TouchSense® tactile feedback technology along with next-generation, virtual-reality motion-sensing in the upcoming G-Pad Pro Gyroscopic Game Pad designed for use with a PC or with the Sony PlayStation 2 game console.

Under the terms of the license, the eDimensional G-Pad Pro product line featuring vibration feedback will now bear the Immersion Feel The Game™ TouchSense® Technology logo.

"Our products are designed for the gamer who demands the most realistic game play experience possible," said Michael Epstein, eDimensional CEO. "Immersion's touch feedback, and our next-generation motion sensing technologies, are a natural pairing to improve game performance. We're delighted to be able to offer both of these exciting features in our peripherals."

"Adding eDimensional as an Immersion licensee means that we're supporting the combination of touch feedback along with motion sensing," said Mark Belinsky, Immersion vice president of marketing strategy. "Together, these technologies define what most gamers would call 'next-generation,' and we're pleased to be working with eDimensional to make it happen." "
