Hoi. Ik heb dit topic al op het MSI forum gepost, maar daar zijn ze niet zo happig op antwoorden... Kan iemand mij hier misschien verder helpen?
Thanks!

Hi
Yesterday, I reinstalled my computer and installed a new mainboard (MSI KT6 Delta). This mainboard contains 8 USB 2.0 ports. I installed the Windows XP SP1 Via patch and upgraded to WinXP SP2. The problem is that Windows indicated that I connect my portable hard disk to a low speed port. When I take a look in device manager, I see the following:
Via Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host controller
+ USB Root HUB (2 ports according to properties)
Via Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host controller
+ USB Root HUB (2 ports according to properties)
Via Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host controller
+ USB Root HUB (2 ports according to properties)
Via Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host controller
+ USB Root HUB (2 ports according to properties)
Via USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller
+ USB Root HUB (8 ports according to properties)
The problem is that all my devices are connected (according to device manager) to the "Via Rev 5..." controllers. When I check out the properties of these controllers, I conclude that every controller contains two ports, which totals to 8 ports.
When I check the properties of the "Via USB 2.0" controller, it mentions 8 ports....
My mainboard has a total of 8 physical ports and I suspect a driver mess-up. For this reason, I completely removed ALL USB devices from device manager and let plug and play do it's job. Unfortunately, this resulted in the same situation... 4 "Via rev 5" controllers and 1 "Via USB 2.0" controller.
When I take a look in the BIOS, I see the following USB related settings:
Enable USB Ports: 8ports
USB Legacy support: disabled
What can I do to enable the USB 2.0 function of this mainboard?
Thanks in advance!
