Dual monitor

Ik ben met een dual monitor-opstelling aan het testen geweest
in suse 9.2 maar de muis geeft een soort van storing op het 2de scherm
ik heb nu er twee losse video-kaarten in zitten een uit een oude compaq
(S3 Virge/DX op de PCI) een een nVidia(RIVA TNT2 model 64 Op de AGP)
Ik heb em nu in de "traditionele Multihead" staan

wie kan mij helpen?

Ik heb ook 2 schermen (1 AGP, 1 PCI kaart) en hier werkt 't prima. Je zult echt specifieker moeten zijn als je iets in de richting van een mogelijke oplossing te horen wilt krijgen.

Je kan soms beter die S3 kaarten links laten liggen want die geven wel meer rare effecten.
Door de 1001 varianten en modellen die er gemaakt zijn, hebben sommige modellen hele vage klachten omdat de drivers net niet helemaal lekker werken.

Nadat ik m'n S3 vervangen had door een MatroxG200 werkte alles hier wel opeens goed.

Timing probleempje? Mijn beeld zag er wel eens zo uit als ik de monitor teveel Hz voerde. Probeer eens maximaal 640x480@60Hz om te beginnen. Volgens mij ben je dus keihard iets aan het stukmaken.
Tip: Als je een vast frequentie wilt draaien (85Hz bijvoorbeeld) dan kun je in je XF86Config bij vertrefresh alleen het getal 85 invullen.
Probeer ook als driver eens een VESA driver. Die is mogelijk wat trager dan de S3 driver, maar werkt vaak wel.

post je x.org of je xfree conf is waarschijnlijk zit daarin het probleem.

PS: weet iemand wanneer er 64 bits / dual screen ondersteunende ati drivers komen

hoop dat iemand weet wat er niet klopt heb em zelf al helemaal doorgekeken(ben erg onhandig met ditsoort dingen )

ten eerste staat je xinerama uit volgens mij heb je dan geen dual screen dat ik weet en gezien het plaatje denk ik dat het ergens is de Mhz zit maar dat is veel probeer weet ik uit ervaring.
heb mijn dual screen ooit op mun non-64 mobo aan de praat gehad met een ati radeon 9200 le met een tweede uitgang.
baal ervan dat ati niet opschiet met die 64 bits drivers want ik wil weer dual screen kunnen werken onder linux

vinnik erg knap want die storing die jij beschrijft treedt pas op in je monitor. Dat print-screent erg lastig.

Dit is dus echt een driver- of config probleem. Iemand het trouwens opgevallen dat er verticaal 16 van die witte strepen zijn? Lijkt me dus echt niet iets randoms.

Volgens mij herinner je je dat voor windows, aangezien het probleem vooral in de drivers zat, die per se als primaire monitor wilden werken.

Mijn ati rage 2c doet t ook niet onder XP (device cannot start), en prima onder linux. sterker nog, laatst 1xS3 virge AGP, 1xS3 virge PCI en 2xrage 2c PCI in een PC gedouwd, en dat werkte prima... X -configure, even de monitor-orientaties goed zetten, en t werkte... videomuurtje in 5 minuten.

Nee dat is mij niet opgevallen. Wel horizontaal trouwens. Iemand die dat is opgevallen?

ff voor de duidelijkheid
de storing van de screenshot krijg ik pas als ik met de muis over het scherm beweeg
zolang ik de muis op het primaire beeldscherm houd heb ik nergens last van maar na een tijdje staat het hele scherm vol met die rommel, aan de refreshrate ligt het dus niet, vesa drivers geven ook precies dezelfde rommel.
Bij xinerama knoop je twee schermen aan elkaar tot een groot scherm(en dat is niet de bedoeling bij mij)
