W2k3 Server en Exchange w2k in w2kchild domain

Ik heb hier de volgende setup staan (testlab):

• Domain ab.nl W2k3 Server.
• Child Domain xy.ab.nl W2k Server.

Nu wil ik in het xy.ab.nl child domain exchange w2k gaan draaien.
Wanneer ik Forrestprep vanaf de Exchange w2k cd draai in domein ab.nl krijg ik al de melding dat de versie van exchange niet compatible is met het huidige OS.
Opzich weet ik dat je Exchange w2k niet op een w2k3 server kan draaien ivm opbouw van je AD etc.
Weet iemand of dit toch te realiseren is aangezien exchange uiteindelijk op w2k komt te draaien en ik liever geen nieuw domein aan wil maken voor xy.ab.nl dus xy.nl

Exchange 2000 is wel compatibel met Windows Server 2003, maar dan pas vanaf SP3. Wat je kunt proberen is de forestprep draaien in het child domain of een Exchang 2000 CD opzoeken met SP3 erin

Sp3 is jammergenoeg niet te slipstreamen dus dat gaat helaas niet lukken.

Je kan idd roberen forestprep te draaien in het child domain met de credentials van de administrator van het parentdomain, echter heb ik een flauw vermoeden dat hij dat niet gaaf genoeg vindt. Maar je kan het altijd proberen, ik neem aan dat Microsoft hier wel iets voor bedacht heeft, zo raar is het namelijk niet

daar staat het volgende antwoord van een MS engineer:
The standard recommendation is that you run Exchange 2000 /forestprep on the
Schema master to avoid any networking/bandwidth issues while running
forestprep over a network connection. However, when your Schema master is a
Windows 2003 server the recommended action would be to run Exchange 2000
/forestprep on a Windows 2000 server in the root domain that contains your
Windows 2003 Schema master. This server should be in the same subnet as the
Schema master to ensure that no networking/bandwidth issues occur while
running /forestprep over the network.

If you do not have a Windows 2000 server in the same domain/subnet as the
Windows 2003 Schema master, you can run Exchange 2000 /forestprep on the
Windows 2003 server. The warning will not prevent you from choosing
"Continue" and running /forestprep. Forestprep does not install Exchange on
the server, but simply updates the Active Directory Schema.

If any issues prevented running Exchange 2000 /forestprep on the Windows
2003 Schema master, the only supported option would be to run Exchange 2000
/forestprep on a Windows 2000 server in the root domain.

You would not want to actually install Exchange 2000 on a Windows 2003
server as it is not supported and can result in subsequent issues.

Because Exchange 2003 is available, the preferred step to take, from a
technical standpoint, would be to install Exchange Server 2003 instead of
Exchange 2000 making this a non-issue.
