[umts] inbellen op vodafone met *99# ?

Vroeger belde ik met mijn GSM en Laptop (of PC of Palm) altijd in om te kunnen internetten (bijv. naar XS4All).

Later kon dit met GPRS, ik had toen een 6310i en belde toen;
Inbellen op: *99#
Dialstring: +cgdcont=1,"ip","live.vodafone.com"
Username: vodafone
Password: vodafone

Je kon dan op GPRS (ron de 115Kb per seconde) internetten.


Inmiddels wil ik ditzelfde voor UMTS, ik zou dan wederom weer moeten inbellen, ik doe dit nu met;
Inbellen op: *99#
Dialstring: +cgdcont=1,"ip","live.vodafone.com"
Username: vodafone
Password: vodafone

Ik heb het geprobeerd met zowel de Nokia 6650 als de Nokia 7600 (beide UMTS en GPRS toestellen).

Wanneer de verbinding wordt gemaakt zie ik echter hetzelfde als op de Nokia 6310i, namelijk "GPRS verbinding wordt gemaakt" en daarna (linkgsboven) een "G".
Ook heb ik qua snelheid gewoon het gevoel dat ik op GPRS zit.
Wat kan ik anders proberen ?

PS. Ik heb in de Nokia 7600 wel de optie: INSTELLINGEN -> TEL.INSTELLINGEN -> NETWERKMODUS -> [ enkel / dubbel netwerk ]
Die heb ik nu op "dubbel netwerk gebruiken" staan.

PS2: Ik hoorde dat de optie: "+cgdcont=1" ervoor zorgt dat je op GPRS inbelt, als je de 1 door een 0 vervangt zou je nl. op analoog inbellen.

Ik wil echt met een telefoon inbellen en niet met die (dure) PCMCIA kaartjes, die kan ik trouwens sowieso ook niet in m'n Pocket PC stoppen.
De Helpdesk van Vodafone weet er niets van, ze zegen dat ze maar 1 UMTS toestel supporten (en dat is de Samsung) en dan niet eens met inbellen, maar met wappen en Vodafone Live! Volgens iemand van de technische helpdesk zou het gewoon moeten kunnen en zou je in je telefoon de optie moeten hebbem om hem op UMTS/GPRS te zetten, dit was puur theoretisch en hij had het nog nooit gezien/getest.

ik kan het mishebben, maar volgens mij zijn die 2 toestellen niet UMTS compatibel.

Ik zie toch echt staan dat ze WCDMA compatible zijn , met allemaal *** erbij, en dan staat eronder: "Phone operator has to support...".

De 7600 en de 6650 kunnen wel degelijk GPRS'en, dat kon de 6310i ook al.
Ik kan er ook mee GPRS'en, dat is geen probleem.


De 7600 en de 6650 zijn wel degelijk UMTS toestellen.

Kijk is in de manual van de 7600: http://nds1.nokia.com/pho...ides/Nokia_7600_UG_en.pdf en zoek op "UMTS", dat woord komt toch echt 15x voor in die manual.

Ik geloof dat wat jij ermee wilt nog niet ondersteund wordt door vodafone, de enige die wel actief op dat gebied is is de kpn met die umts datacards (pcmcia) maar aangezien je daar niks aan hebt lijkt het me toch een kwestie van verder zoeken op internet.

Heb je de tech fora van nokia al geprobeerd of het forum van www.mobile-review.com ?

Vodafone ondersteunt wel degelijk dataverkeer op UMTS, sterker nog, ze waren de eerste in Nederland.

Ze hebben al sinds een hele tijd de Vodafone Mobile Connect Card. Hetzelfde als die KPN PCMCIA card. Kijk maar op: http://www.vodafone.nl/za...20connect/in%20het%20kort

Ik heb overal gezocht, ge'google'd etc. Het is alleen wel zo dat dat *99# alleen iets was wat bij de Vodafone NL BE werkte, dus vandaar staat er op de buitelandse fora helemaal niets meer over.

Description
The set command specifies PDP context parameter values for a PDP context identified by the (local) context identification parameter, <cid>. The number of PDP contexts that may be in a defined state at the same time is given by the range returned by the test command.
A special form of the set command, +CGDCONT= <cid> causes the values for context number <cid> to become undefined.
The read command returns the current settings for each defined context.
The test command returns values supported as a compound value. If the MT supports several PDP types, <PDP_type>, the parameter value ranges for each <PDP_type> are returned on a separate line.
Defined values
<cid>: (PDP Context Identifier) a numeric parameter which specifies a particular PDP context definition. The parameter is local to the TE-MT interface and is used in other PDP context-related commands. The range of permitted values (minimum value = 1) is returned by the test form of the command.
<PDP_type>: (Packet Data Protocol type) a string parameter which specifies the type of packet data protocol

Aha, maar (Jeroenr) heb je dan ook een idee wat ik moet gebruiken voor UMTS ?

Of moet ik soms al eerst op UMTS zitten en kan ik dan uberhaupt pas een connectie (soort inbelverbinding) maken ?

In de users manual heb ik wel het icoontje kunnen vinden wat ik zou moeten zien als ik op UMTS geconnect zit, een een "3G" tekentje.

Ook moet ik die optie "Netwerkmodus" in "Toestelinstellingen" op "Dubbel netwerk" zetten en NIET op "gsm".
Als je hem koopt staat die op "gsm", wat betekent dat die fixed en alleen gsm kan gebruiken. bij "Dubbel netwerk" zou hij automatisch voor UMTS moeten kiezen wanneer dat beschikbaar is of zoiets,.. (?)

Dat is denk ik afhankelijk van het netwerk. Probeer eens in een hyperterm venster

Als ik hyperterminal opstart, krijg ik de wizard om een nieuwe verbinding te maken.

De Infraroodmodem (even de Nokia 7600 op Infrarood aan m;n laptop gehangen) zit om een virtuele COM6.

Er wordt dan ook gelijk gevraagt naar welk nummer etc ik wil inbellen.

Kan ik niet gewoon iets van "telnet com6" doen ofzo ? Ofwel, gewoon de modem benaderen ZONDER ergens op in te bellen, zodat ik kan stoeien met Dial-strings?

Ik kan van het modem wel Diagnostische gegevens opvragen onder Configuratiescherm -> Modems -> Modem Query'en/Vragen. Dus ik moet zelf ook toch wel iets van een AT string kunnen geven ofzo ?

hyperterminal opstarten --> wizard afsluiten --> file --> properties --> connect using en daar je infrarood modem kiezen. als het goed is kan je nu wel met at commando's spelen
