hello if your reading this,

Sorry if what i am posting is long but im an english speaker and have recently arrived in Amsterdam and im looking to get myself a new system. I have been looking at getting an amd 64 3200 1mb. Most places i seen here seem to have the 512 k version though... are you able to find the amd 64 3200 with 1mb cache here? if so could someone recommend a store thats well priced and in or near amsterdam? alot of the stores seem to be out in the more regional parts. im also looking at getting the gigabyte K8NS and maybe also could someone recommend a store to try to well priced video cards too?

thanks for any help or advice, i would appreciate it.

Walk down the ceintuurbaan in Amsterdam. Its the computerstreet of amsterdam. Shops like Mycom, Dynabyte and more computershops are there, and I'm sure you will find something there. I think you first should go to the mycom cause they have the most products.

edit:

Harrie

NederVlaming

I am usually using the pricewatch @ print.tweakers.net, because it directly shows the city where the store is located.
For an AMD64 3200+ 1MB cache it would be this

So the cheapest store in Amsterdam for the AMD64 is MrComputer. €235,-

Hmm, I just read that mrcomputer doesn't have a real store, it's only an internet shop.

Hi there,

Try using the Golden (Yellow) Pages. Each store listed has a map showing you how to get there.

English speaker, my ass! I took the liberty of doing a spell check on your post and the replies so far. ;)

Slight addition to that last comment:

Not only is this a Dutch-language forum, it is also a forum that has certain minimum requirements regarding doing a bit of research yourself before posting and also paying due attention to the eventual post.

There is absolutely no mention of any attempts you yourself might have done before running to a forum for help. That might be the norm on UseNET, but we have slightly higher standards.

And talking about standards- things like punctuation, capitalisation and accurate descriptions are pretty universal and apply to English too. Users get irritated by sloppy language, which only reduces the chance of a useful reply. I would particularly point to the '1 mb' you mention. m=mili, b=bit. If you were referring to the 1MB (M=Mega, B=Byte) version of the said CPU, that wasn't exactly what you posted...

Please refer to an English language forum, but even there be sure to be accurate. The more accurate the question (and the language it is posed in), the better the chance of an accurate answer :o
