Click Start, then Run
In the Run dialog box, type "regedit" into the "Open:" field without quotes and click "OK"
Once REGEDIT is open, click the plus (+) symbol by HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Click the plus (+) symbol by SOFTWARE
Click the plus (+) symbol by Microsoft
Click on "Outlook Express" once to highlight it
In the right hand pane, double-click "BlockExeAttachments"
For "Value Data" enter 0 and then click "OK"
Exit REGEDIT and restart your machine
After your machine restarts, open Outlook Express and go to Tools > Options and then to the Security tab. The option "Do not allow attachments to be opened or saved that could potentially be a virus" can be checked or unchecked it based on your preference.
