Dit was ik ook zo gewend bij m'n DAT-recorderom ff op de WRITE knop te drukken.
Maar dit zal van korte duur zijn, want Sony is uitgekomen met een MP3/MiniDisc Interface.

division. “At about $3 for a blank MD, it is reasonable to create and update a personalized MD mix for every activity with the latest downloadable tunes using Sony’s new Internet Audio Recording Interface.”
By bundling two of Sony’s most popular, virtually unshockable MD Walkman player/recorders with the Internet Audio Recording Interface, consumers can record MP3 or other audio files from their PC to a
MiniDisc. The “Plug & Play” interface easily connects through the primary USB port of a PC, eliminating the need to open the computer or connect to a sound card while delivering superior audio performance with the high
quality digital-to-analog converter called the PCLink.
There is no need to install additional software. The Interface bundle works with pre-installed Windows® 98 or 2000 and any
Windows©-compatible audio player/jukebox applications.
Mixing your favorite music together on an MD is easy. Simply rip your favorite tracks from CDs or download music files, then record your
customized play list to the MD. You can also connect to other audio sources such as a CD Walkman personal stereo or other home audio components.
The Internet Audio Recording Interface will be sold this month with two of Sony’s MiniDisc Walkman player/recorders – the MZ-R55 and MZ-R37.
As the top-selling personal player/recorder, the MZ-R55 has a rechargeable, removable stick-like battery and comes in Champagne
Gold. This pocket-sized unit has a backlit LCD headphone remote control, which lets users leave the unit in a bag or pocket while controlling all of the MD Walkman player's functions, such as changing the volume
and music tracks while displaying the song title, disc title, playback status and battery level. Bundled with the PC-to-MD Interface, the MZ-R55PCIF is expected to sell for about $280.
With a sleek horizontal design and easy-to-access buttons, the Champagne Gold MZ-R37 is easy to use and small enough to hold in your hand. It comes with a remote and runs on the supplied AA Nickel-Cadmium (NC) rechargeable battery. Bundled with the
PC-to-MD Interface, the MZ-R37PCIF is expected to sell for less than $200.
