Only products and quantities authorized and within attached packaging guidelines will be accepted. Please make sure that your RMA number is visible on 3 sides of the box. Make sure to place each hard drive in its own ESD bag and use a sturdy cardboard box. If this packing list is in error, please contact Western Digital prior to shipment.
All products accepted by Western Digital for RMA processing will not be returned to you. All data on hard drives will be wiped out. Please make sure to backup the data on your hard drive(s) before shipment. Please make sure to read and follow the shipping and packing guidelines specified below. Incorrect shipping methods can cause a delay in processing your RMA.
You agree to hold Western Digital harmless from any loss or damage discovered sixty (60) days after the date of this RMA. This period shall be considered to be a reasonable time within which to make any claim with respect to loss or damage arising out of this transaction.

Western Digital Packing and Shipping Instructions for RMA shipments
All products require stable and sufficient packing material, needed to protect the product from ESD (Electro Static Discharge) influences and possible damage during transport. Required Packaging Steps:
A. place drive in ESD Bag
B. wrap in foam or bubble wrap cushioning
C. place in sturdy cardboard box
D. write RMA number on outside packaging
When shipping multiple items, each item must be packed as above, so they do not touch each other and cannot move inside the packaging. All products MUST be packed in individual anti-static bags and in a sturdy cardboard box.
All WARRANTY CLAIMS ARE VOIDED IF A PRODUCT IS RECEIVED UNDER ANY OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
A. Product was damaged during transport as a result of bad packaging
B. Product damaged, modified, scratched, or opened
C. Product has one or more WD labels removed or torn
D. Product was shipped without proper ESD protection
WARNING: Western Digital maintains serial number tracking. Any drive discovered to be stolen will not have the warranty honored and will not be returned to you. Credit or replacement will not be issued
The RMA number must be clearly visible on the outside of the packaging.
EIDE Drives and Cards: Remove all add-on items (i.e. cables, software, adapters, brackets etc.).
FireWire Drives, USB, COMBO: Return the drive in a plastic casing along with the power adapter and cord. Keep all other cables, software, and manuals. In addition, please write EXT RMA and include the RMA number.
An RMA number is required for every return shipment to WD. The applied RMA number on the shipment should match the correct amount of units, model type and serial numbers. If such is not correct, please contact the Western Digital RMA Department.

Use a traceable carrier for transport (UPS, DHL, and others) as they provide you with a tracking number and proof of delivery. The shipping cost to the service centre is at your cost, Western Digital pays for the return shipment. Western Digital will refuse any collect shipment. If upon arrival your products are out of warranty the shipment will be returned to you at YOUR COST or scrapped without further notice.
RMA numbers are valid for 30 days from the date they are issued.

Western Digital Technologies Customs Requirements for International Customers
International Customers: As a convenience to you, the Proforma invoice/packing list provided may be used as a Proforma Invoice for Customs purposes. Please sign and date the form (when applicable) and include it with your shipment. WDC pays any duties/taxes incurred at Customs for the replacement product. Customer pays any duties/taxes incurred at Customs when shipping direct to WDC. Please contact your Customs and Excise Authorities regarding any excess Import/Export charges that your country may apply. WD will not pay for these extra charges. You may also ship the drive via your local post office, but we recommend you ship the package with recorded delivery.

The words, "In Warranty Replacement", are printed on the proforma. This acknowledges to customs that the drive is a replacement and not 'new'.
