is dit nu wel een echte switch?

Ik wilde me dit ding gaan kopen, omdat er hij overal in de prijslijsten staat als switch. Echter op de duitse site van Longshine hebben ze het zelf over een switching hub, maar als ik lees wat ie doet lijkt het meer op een echte switch. Hij kost slechts 157DM!!! Kent iemand dit apparaat en is het wat? maar belangrijker, is dit nu wel een echte switch????

Als ik goed lees en ik weet het verschil tussen een hub, switching-hub en een switch, dan moet het een switch zijn. Ze gebruiken de termen nogal vaag dus wees voorzichtig.

Ik val bij hun over de term switching hub, want dat is geen term/aanduiding voor een echte switch

dat bedoel ik. Ik ken de verschillen ook, maar dat het verkeerd in prijslijsten staat vind ik nog tot daar aan toe, maar dat zelfs de fabrikant de termen door elkaar gebruikt vind ik vreemd. Ik vraag me nu wel af of het echt een switch is..

juist, omdat ze zeggen dat elke pc de volledige bandbreedte krijgt zou je zeggen dat het om een echte switch gaat. Ik heb inmiddels de verschillende pc zaken eens gemaild met deze vraag, want dit is erg verwarrend. Als het een echte switch is, ga ik hem meteen halen, want 157DM is natuurlijk een koopje. Voor mij is dat nl. wel handig, woon aan de duitse grens

heb net bericht terug uit duitsland dat ze me kunnen verzekeren dat het een switch is. Die man van die firma heeft hem nl. zelf sinds een half jaar thuis en het ding werkt als switch....goedkoop dingetje dus....ga ik meteen halen.

Ja, ok maar dan is de term switching hub wel verkeerd gebruikt.

Ik heb dit ding, alleen dan met 8 poorten ook nway Gigafast dingetje, werkt overigens prima, ik heb het idee dat het een goed snel kastje is wat niet echt veel onderdoet voor 3Com (en dan heb je het nog over een hub), toevallig hoorde ik laatst dat de switches van 3com goedkoper zijn dan de hubs (5 poorts)
