Moeizaam contact via netwerk

Heb een netwerk met 4 pc's aangesloten op een router welke een verbinding maakt met 1 chello lijn en 1 adsl lijn.
De pc's heten: PC1, PC2, PC3 en PC4

Probleem:
Als ik vanaf PC1 een andere pc wil benaderen, maakt niet uit welke dan gaat dit zeer moeizaam, file browsing gaat in slomo, soms moet ik meer als 1 minuut wachten totdat ik de inhoud van een map te zien krijg. Ook ratelt de HD van PC1 als een gek tijdens het browsen op 1 van de andere PC's en de PC wordt dan ook langzaam.

Benader ik deze PC vanaf 1 van de andere 3 pc's is er GEEN probleem.
De andere PC's onderling hebben ook geen problemen. Dus PC2 <=> PC3 of PC4 etc geen enkel probleem, alles reageer snel.

Het probleem is alleen als ik op de PC1 naar een andere PC iets wil doen, standalone of alleen internetten gaat alles goed. Zoals ik al zei, de andere 3 aangesloten PC's hebben helemaal geen problemen ondeling.

Alle 4 de PC's hebben WinXP prof als OS
Specs van PC1: amd 2000, 1GB ram en 120GB HD, 3com nic en win XP prof
Het netwerk is volledig DHCP
Geen firewall op deze PC, alleen antivirus en 2 anti worm/bots programma's (moosoft en spybot), windows FW is natuurlijk ook uit.

Ik heb al vanalles geprobeert maar ik krijg het niet goed, ik snap niet dat er alleen een probleem is als je vanaf de PC naar een andere browsed, inkomend daar in tegen gaat probleemloos.

Kan me iemand wat tips geven waar dit aan zou kunnen liggen want ik weet het niet meer.

Staat in die folder zoveel info (files en folders)?
Probeer eens de indexering (van Windows) uit te zetten en kijk of dat performance winst oplevert.

weet niet of dat dit de oplossing is maar ik gebruik um altijd:

This is a great tweak. Before I found it, I was always smashing my head against the table waiting to view shares on other computers. Basically, when you connect to another computer with Windows XP, it checks for any Scheduled tasks on that computer - a fairly useless task, but one that can add up to 30 seconds of waiting on the other end - not good! Fortunately, it’s fairly easy to disable this process. First, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Explorer/RemoteComputer/NameSpace in the Registry. Below that, there should be a key called {D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}. Just delete this, and after a restart, Windows will no longer check for scheduled tasks - mucho performance improvement!

Zoals al gezegd, netwerk settings worden door DHCP server uitgedeeld

Nee, als je met een andere PC deze zelfde map benaderd dan heeft deze er geen moeite mee, alleen als PC1 deze wil "browsen" dan heeft PC1 dit probleem

Allemaal originele UTP kabels, heb ze al eens vervangen en onderling verwisseld, geen enkel effect.
Ja QoS staat aan op alle 4 de pc's

qos is dacht ik bedoeld voor internet sevices en denk niet dat het echt helpt voor netwerk speed.

There’s a common problem in Windows XP that can make network browsing very slow.

If the 'My Network Places' folder contains a shortcut to a network share, then each refresh of the explorer window will attempt to read icon information from every file in the remote location, causing the system to slow to a crawl.

Removing all shortcuts from 'My Network Places' will return the system response to normal.

Every time you open a file via a UNC name, Windows XP will automatically add another shortcut to the 'My Network Places' folder - so the issue tends to get worse over time.

You can prevent the automatic addition of shortcuts by setting HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoRecentDocsNetHood to 1.

Similar issues affect the Start menu and Desktop - placing a shortcut to a network resource in either location can drastically slow down system response, particularly when the network resource is unavailable. Shortcuts to Domains or Machines don't suffer from these problems as they always have the same icon.

There are methods of accessing the network that will avoid this performance problem:

Method 1
Create a drive map and use this to browse the network files.

Method 2
Create a shortcut to explorer.exe and pass the UNC name of the resource.
e.g.
explorer /e, \\Server\FileShare

Shortcuts made using the above syntax can be placed on the start menu or desktop, but unfortunately not inside 'My Network Places' of course you can just create a folder called something like 'Simon's Network places' and fill it with links in the above format.

zijn er eventueel meerdere protecollen geinstalleerd op de pc? zorg er voor dat er alleen gebruik wordt gemaakt van tcp/ip.

I found alot of people complaining about the slow network browsing with Windows 2000 and XP, but fast with 95/98 working on the same server with too many files listed in one directory (8000 in our clients case).  Note: This tweak only applys to LAN connections.

Create a text file on the server put this into it:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver\parameters]
"SizReqBuf"=dword:0000ffff

Save the file as WHATEVER.REG not WHATEVER.TXT

Then double click on the file to apply the setting (once again on the SERVER not the pc accessing the server).

What this does is it sets the DIR commad's buffer from 14000 to 65000. This fix works on NT/2000/XP.

Het vreemde vind ik als ik op een netwerk map klik dat de HD van PC1 begint te ratelen, vraag me af wat ie gaat doen namelijk, de files staan immers op een andere PC

Dat is het dus
Als ik inderdaad die shortcuts weg haal in de verkenner en gewoon browse:
Microsoft Windows-netwerk, PC2, map blabla
Dan doet ie het wel snel
Via die shortcust die hij zelf er neerzet onder: Mijn netwerk locaties is het ontzetten langzaam.
