Als ik een aantal van mijn aanzienlijke mp3s probeer af te spelen crasht winamp bij het inlezen van de mp3 reeds (dus nog voor het afspelen). Het gevolg is een niet-reagerend winamp-window en met Tastmanager moet ik winamp.exe afsluiten.
In Windows Media Player krijg ik een error te zien zonder crash:

Als ik op More Information klik kom ik bij een nietszeggende help pagina die verteld dat het formaat niet ondersteund wordt
.
- In BSplayer spelen de betreffende mp3's wel af
- Winamp bij mijn huisgenoot (zelfde versie) speelt het wel gewoon af
- Geen melding te zien in Event viewer
Volgens GSpot heb ik aan audio codecs:
- Windows XP Proffessional
- Creative Audigy 1 geluidkaart met nieuwste drivers
- Als ik de mp3's render in Gspot gebruikt hij de MPEGLAYER3 (MP3) (0x0055) codec
