[XP] Geen update te doen via Windows Update

Ik heb hier XP Home naar Pro geupgrade en wil nu Office 2003 erop installeren. Echter tijdens de installatie krijg ik de foutmelding dat er een Servicepack niet volledig geinstalleerd is. Ik wil dus via een Windows Update de laatste SP erop zetten.

Nu krijg ik telkens na de melding;

De website is verbeterd. Klik op Nu bijwerken om de nieuwe versie van de software te downloaden en Windows Update te starten.

Na het klikken op Nu bijwerken krijg weer hetzelfde scherm dat ik op Nu Bijwerken moet klikken. Ik heb via de Windows-support gezocht naar een oplossing en deze draagt aan:

making it impossible to perform the update.

trouble finding the files or string value listed below you should not attempt this resolution. Deleting the wrong items in this process can damage your computer.
1. Close Internet Explorer. 
2. Delete IUCtl.dll and the IUEngine.dll from both the system32\dllcache and system32 folders.
3. Delete the registry string value “SelfupdateStatus” present in the 
HKLM\Software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\windowsupdate\IUcontrol key. 
4. Delete iuenginenew.dll, if it exists.

Downloading and installing new Windows Update site software may also resolve this issue.  
Follow the instructions in the article on manually installing the Windows Update software,
located elsewhere on this page. 

You may also be able to resolve this issue by deleting the files in your temporary Internet 
cache. Follow the instructions below:
1. Close the Internet Explorer.
2. Right-click the Internet Explorer icon.
2. Click "Properties."
3. On the General tab, click "Delete Files."

Ook dit mocht niet baten.

Is er éen manier om handmatig een servicepack te downloaden of nóg beter; kent iemand een werkende oplossing?

Eventueel via Mozilla als je niet met IE op die pagina kunt komen (vanwege errors in IE).

Anders download je meteen SP2 Beta die al 6 dagen uit is...

Of je hebt de illegale versie, dan werkt het ook niet echt in sommige gevallen, moet je wel voor je handmatig de sp gedownload hebt de key veranderen.

Staat je tijd en datum goed? ook goed het jaar ff checken.. ik heb ooit es een hele tijd zitten prutsen en omdat de datum niet goed stond wou het niet.

Kun je alles los downloaden. Misschien dat je daar iiets aan hebt?

Ehm... Misschien kunnen al de bovenstaande opties uitgeprobeerd worden.

Bij mij had ik het ook, en ik had een legale versie, maar dat heb ik "opgelost" door internet explorer gewoon zelf te updaten/installeren en toen deed hij alles weer via de update-service.
