In Genesis 12;2-3 God promised Abram to make of him a great nation and blessed him and promised blessing of all families of earth through him. Further in Genesis 15:18, God made a covenant with Abram and promised to give to his "seed" all the countries between the river of Egypt, Nile and the river Euphrates (in Iraq). Abrams wife sarah was barren and she had born him no children. So she gave Abram her maidservant Hagar to be his wife. Hagar gave birth to the "first born son" of Abram, according to gods promise and he was named Ishmael according to gods command. (Genesis 16:17-16)
In Genesis 17:1 the lord appeard to abram to confirm the covenant which was made earlier and promised to make him father of many nations and to give his descendants the land of Canaan and subsequently Abrams name changed to Abraham. Then god commanded Abraham, the circumcision of all his descendants as an everlasting sign of his covenant (chapter 17:9-14)
After the birth of Isaac to Sarah a jealousy developed between sarah and Ishmael and his mother Hagar. Eventually God commanded Abraham to send away Hagar and Ishmael and not to worry about them, because God would take care of them.
While they wonderd in the desert,God called Hagar from heaven and told her not to be afraid, for He will make Ishmael into a great nation. (Genesis 21:18)
( The Genesis is the book of Isaac and his descendants; Jews not of Abrahams other line via Ishmael; arabs.)
The children of Israel inhabitat the land of canaan and the children of Ishmael inhabitat the land of the arabs, all the countries between the Nile and Euphrates as prommised by God, in Genesis 15:18 to brahams "seed".
The "great nations" promised by god where to become thus the fountain-head of two spiritual streams, which must not follow together, but each in its own course.
Ishmael wanderd in the wilderness of Paran and settled in the valley "Bacca", present day Mecca and became the father of Arabs as willed by god.Surely God blessed the children of Isaac by guiding them to the truth, the straight path, the path of God by sending his mighty prophets such as; Moses, Solomon & Jesus.
In the same way God blessed the arabs by sending them the last and mightiest prophet Muhammed.
