[XP] Laatst gebruikte documents uitschakelen

Als je in windows een bestand opent dan wordt er telkens in START>DOCUMENTS een linkje aangemaakt naar dat bestand.

Ten eerste vertraagt dat de pc en ten tweede vind ik het een inbreuk op privacy gezien het feit dat anderen precies kunnen zien welke files ik open en ik kan zien wat anderen openen.

Is er een manier om deze 'functionaliteit' helemaal uit te schakelen?

In een batchfile zetten en regelmatig eens draaien is altijd handig om te zorgen dat het leeg is (en dus niet in een roamingprofile copy mee hoeft)

Open regedit to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Policies\Explorer

Right-click the right pane and select New, Binary Value:

To remove Documents, name the binary value: NoRecentDocsMenu
To remove Favorites, name the binary value: NoFavoritesMenu
To remove Find, name the binary value: NoFind
To remove Log Off, name the binary value: NoLogOff
To remove Run, name the binary value: NoRun
To disable Shut Down, name the binary value: NoClose
To disable Control Panel and Printer folders, name the binary value: NoSetFolders
To disable Taskbar context menu, name the binary value: NoTrayContextMenu

Double-click the new entry, select modify and add this value: 01 00 00 00
To reverse the action, change the value to: 00 00 00 00

Mijn 1e 2 links waren ook de registry oplossing (mooier is het nog om via gpedit.msc te doen, maar ik heb geen zin dat op te zoeken )

Wat jij echter vergeet is dat jouw oplossing van: "NoRecentDocsMenu" alleen het menu item verbergt - als Fairy's vriendin ooit naar "%userprofile%\recent" surft, zal ze daar alle 'items' zien staan en dan krijgt ie alsnog ruzie
