Probleem met cd schrijver in laptop

Ik draai hier op men laptop, debian unstable, met de 2.6.3 kernel.
Ik probeer cd's te schrijven en rw's te blanken via de "atapi" manier en dus niet via scsi emulatie. Scsci-emulatie staat ook uit in de kernelconfig.

Ik probeer te blanken met het volgende commando:

cdrecord -v dev=/dev/hdc blank=all (waarbij hdc uiteraard de goede drive is)

met als output:

Als ik cdrecord -prcap doe krijg ik bijna dezelfde output. Ik krijg helemaal boven aan chter eerst dit:

Ik krijg dus expliciet een melding dat ik hdc gebruik. Ik heb versie 2.0+a26pre27-1 9 (verder ook Debian unstable en 2.6.3)

Ik heb net /etc/default/cdrecord aangepast zodat "cdrecord -prcap" dezelfde output geeft als bij ajvdvegt (uiteraard zijn dit wel de goede in stellingen ook bij mij :P )

Maar het probleem blijft...

In de manpage van cdrecord staat mijn probleem ook. Hierin staat alleen uit gelegd wat de verschillende regels van de error betekenen... maar verder geen oplossing...

Uit de manpage:

A typical error message for a SCSI command looks like:

The first line gives information about the transport of
the command. The text after the first colon gives the
error text for the system call from the view of the ker-

there were any problems for the transport of the command
over the SCSI bus. fatal error means that it was not pos-
available, followed by the segment number that is only
valid if the command was a copy command. If the error mes-
sage is not directly related to the current command, the
text deferred error is appended.

The sixth line is the error text for the sense code and
the sense qualifier if available. If the type of the
device is known, the sense data is decoded from tables in
scsierrs.c . The text is followed by the error value for
a field replaceable unit.

The seventh line prints the block number that is related
to the failed command and text for several error flags.
The block number may not be valid.

The eight line reports the timeout set up for this command
and the time that the command really needed to complete.

Even een oude }:O uit de de drek trekken.

Ik zit tegen precies hetzelfde probleem aan te hikken.

Ik heb van de week een CDRW gebrand in m'n laptop, en die is 100% goed gelukt. Dus de brander werkt. Nu wil ik hem wissen met cdrecord, en krijg ik dezelfde fout:

Het opvallende is dat m'n cd brander helemaal niet lijkt te reageren (led gaat niet branden, spint niet op). Het lijkt dus een aansturings probleem te zijn.
Ik heb nu native IDE support voor de cdbrander in gebruik en wil nog even SCSI emulatie proberen, maar anders weet ik het eigenlijk niet... En om nou speciaal windows te moeten starten om alleen een cdrw te wissen is ook wat overbodig...
