SVG in Mozilla aan de praat krijgen

Voor m'n studie ben ik bezig met webmapping, het online publiceren van interactieve kaarten. Eén van de standaards die je voor webmapping kunt gebruiken is SVG, scalable vector graphics. Adobe heeft een SVG plugin die voor alle browsers zou moeten werken. http://www.adobe.com/svg/main.html
Als ik 'm installeer werkt 'ie onder Internet Explorer prima. Maar bij Mozilla gaat het fout.

In de handleiding (http://www.adobe.com/svg/indepth/pdfs/SVG_Viewer_windows.pdf) staat het volgende over het gebruik met Netscape compatible browsers:

How to copy Netscape plug-ins into other Browsers

If you install another copy of Netscape which is supported by the Netscape plug-in, you can copy the following files into your plug-ins folder to view SVG from within that browser:
• NPSVGVw.dll
• SVGView.dll
• SVGViewer.zip

Deze files zijn na installatie echter nergens op m'n harddisk te vinden... in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\SVG Viewer 3.0\Plugins vind ik wel:
• NPSVG3.dll
• NPSVG3.zip
• SVG3RFF.dll
• SVG3RR.dll

Als ik die naar de Mozilla plugins dir kopieer (Mozilla 1.6 en Mozilla FireFox 0.8 beiden geprobeerd) crasht Mozilla spontaan op iedere pagina met SVG.

Wie helpt mij om SVG aan de praat te krijgen onder Mozilla?

Je hebt sowieso een oude manual te pakken, die manual die jij linkt die is voor versie 2 van de SVG viewer, terwijl er al een versie 3 is, welke jij ook hebt geinstalleerd.

De meest recente manual staat hier:

Als je even had gekeken bij plugindoc, had je geweten dat je de preview versie 6 had moeten downloaden. Deze kun je hier bemachtigen.

Vervolgens moet je em installeren, zoals plugindoc hier aangeeft:

1. Install Adobe SVG Viewer 6.0 Beta
2. If your browser is not detected by the installer, copy NPSVG6.dll and NPSVG6.zip to your browser's plugins directory. These files are normally located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\SVG Viewer 6.0\Plugins\


Adobe SVG Viewer 6.0 is pre-release software. Use with caution.

Ik hoor wel of het gelukt is.
