Sapphire 9800pro elke paar minuten freeze

Hey, ik heb vandaag een upgrade gedaan van en Ti4200 naar een Sapphire 9800 Pro. Speelt geen rol welk spel ik speel, elk spel geeft om de 2 minuten zo ongeveer een freeze. Beeld blijft dan ongeveer een halve seconden hangen, en dat zo een paar keer (5 keer gemiddeld, op 3 seconden tijd zoiets...) na elkaar, waarna alles weer perfect loopt voor een paar minuten. Heb de drivers al geupdate naar catalyst 4.2, de NVIDIA drivers eraf gehaald, kaart draait niet overklokt.

Suggesties waar te zoeken ?

wat voor voeding heb je? mobo? welke instellingen gebruik je en welk OS? je configuartie doorgeven helpt altijd!

Drivers steeds goed geuninstalleerd? Al oudere driverversies uitgeprobeerd?

ff met drivercleaner alles van nvidiadrivers eraf knikkeren wsl zitten er nog wat restjes in je systeem. De normale uninstal functie haalt dus niet alles weg.
Tevens is het beste gewoon een cleaninstal van windows + rest software.
Dan weet je zeker dat er geen drivers meer "botsen".

Creative SB Live 5.1
350W voeding Aopen, geeft 4.86v constant op 5v lijn en 12.6v op 12v lijn
op de molex van de kaart zit enkel nog een klein 6mm fan, geen andere apparaten
kaart voelt niet warm aan, fan doet het goed

Ik denk ook in de richting van een software/driver probleem, maar weet niet wat ik nog kan proberen. drivers 4.1 en 4.2 geprobeerd nu.

Herinstalleren agp mobo driver?

ik kan het nu beter beschrijven, het gebeurt exact elke 2 minuten, en duurt dan een 5-tal seconden, waarin het beeld eerst 2 keer een halve seconde blijft hangen, en dan nog een 5-tal keer korter blijft hangen.... heb de soundkaartdrivers en de ATI drivers al enkele keren terug geinstalleerd, en de driveclean tool gebruikt om de NVIDIA drivers te verwijderen. Morgen installeer ik de Nforce driver van mijn moederbord nog wel eens....

nog suggesties ? welk programmaatje/driver kan om de 2 minuten in conflict komen met mijn nieuw juweeltje ? Spelen doet dan ding wel hoor !!!

fast writes uitzetten

voeding vind ik owk wat a d lichte kant (350 watt). Ik zou je echt wel minstens een 350 watts-voeding van een degelijk merk aanraden want heb zelf men 300 watts-voeding door men Sapphire RADEON 9800 PRO naar de eeuwige jachtvelden gestuurd. Nu heb ik Enermax 350 WATT, en die kan dit kaartjeh moeiteloos aan!

hmmlz.. doe je goed dan 'k zit hier met een (??) 300watt voeding, en heb er zo'n 5 pci kaarten in zitten + 1 x agp + 3 hdd's en een cd burner. Trekt ie dus makkelijk.

Verder zou ik idd ff je agp van je mobo drivers installeren.. Kans is dan dat directX 9 van je pc is afgedonderd, maar die is zo geinstalleerd!

Stuttering.

One of the most annoying problems one can experience is stuttering. At one time or another, most of us have experienced this irritating little bugger. There can be a bunch of causes for stuttering, and as such, a bunch of troubleshooting steps we can take to alleviate this ailment.

First, press CTRL + ALT + DELETE (which accesses the task manager). Look and see how many processes are running. More specifically, check how much memory the processes are using up (sort the list according to memory usage). If you have any one process taking up more than 30,000Kb (30MB) of memory, and/or your CPU usage is constantly at 90-100%, then you either a) have some large file sharing clients going or b) have some major spyware problems.

Go and get Ad-Aware 6 and SpyBot: Search & Destroy. These are two of the most powerful spyware and adware killing programs on the internet. For those of you that don’t know, spyware and adware are “programs” that are silently installed onto your PC without your permission. They “watch” you surf the web, and send back information from your computer to their home sites. They can even hijack your browser and install pornographic buttons and links, or pop up ads while you aren’t even browsing the internet. Clearly, both spyware and adware needs to go. Run both of these programs (separately) and remove anything they find. Do not worry; they are perfectly safe to use, I use them dozens of times a month to remove any pests that find their way into my machine.

Before you run them, however, make sure you update them. There are integrated update functions in both of the programs.

Another possible cause for stuttering can be Windows XP/2000 itself (for Win98, this does not apply). XP/2000 have many services (Start -> Run -> Services.msc) running in the background, most of which you’ll never need and only “serve” to slow down your computer. To find out which of these services are to be disabled and which need to remain active, check out Black Viper’s world-renowned service guides for Windows XP and Windows 2000. Anyone who’s anyone is aware of these two excellent FAQs on the various Windows services.

One other possible explanation is disk swapping/AGP texturing; try defragging your hard drive (Start -> Run -> dfrg.msc; or Start -> Program Files -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Defrag) and/or increasing your AGP Aperture in your systems BIOS (tap F8 while booting up).

‘AGP Texturing’ occurs when your card looks into your system's RAM for texture data. This is NOT good. As mentioned above, your system memory is a LOT slower than that onboard your video card. If or when your card needs to access textures from your aperture, you will notice a lot of stuttering, because, quite simply your RAM is just that slow. Even if you have PC3500 or RDRAM, it isn't anywhere near as fast as your vRAM.

Again, using the AGP Aperture causes stuttering; so, why not disable it, you ask? Well, your RAM is a lot faster than your hard drive! When it runs out of memory, the Radeon needs to put excess information somewhere, and better it be in your RAM than in your hard drive, which is infinitely slower.

So what is the optimal setting? No one can tell you that. For some, 32MB is enough. For others, 32MB results in system crashes. I personally use 128MB.

stutter problems:
- try to disable all icons in the tray (right bottom corner in default...where the clock is )
- try disabling as many programs as possible (use alt+ctrl+del to see which programs run in background)
- you can set with the task manager the priority of your 3d program up to high (causes some problems, but could also help)
- you can set the hardware acceleration in windows down a notch (fix stutter in 95 %)
- try disabling agp fast writes in bios (some guys say so , I have no certain results with it)
- execute smartguard and look if everything is enabled
- try changing "system" in the device manager from acpi-uni (default win xp, means a motherboard with 2 or more cpu) to acpi (one board with one cpu)..some people have success, some not (me inclusive )
- stutter in opengl is fixed with the latest ati drivers

Thanks voor jullie tips !! Het herinstalleren van de geluid- en video drivers hebben uiteindelijk het stotteren om de paar minuten verholpen. Nu blijft er enkel nog een freeze-met-reboot na een paar minuten spelen in Rise of Nations. Misschien dat ik er nog wel vind, maar nog niet genoeg tijd gehad om alles te testen, he.....

F1 2002, CMR3, NFSU, UT2003, Splinter Cell, MOHAA blijken het allen goed te doen. Is echt wel een super kaartje !! AA op 4x en AF op 16x in al die spellen, met maximum beeldkwaliteit, en trekt alles perfect.

Nu nog de kinderziektes eraf krijgen

Fast Write.

Often more trouble than it’s worth, Fast Writes supposedly speed up performance by allowing a direct AGP connection between CPU and framebuffer. If you don’t know what that means, don’t worry about it. It’s an outdated feature whose function today is almost completely negated. Back in the days of the GeForce 3, this used to be a hot new feature that actually increased performance a respectable amount. Nowadays, however, all it’s liable to do is give you a major headache when your games start to artifact or crash outright. Most motherboards support this feature, but not all use it correctly. For that reason, it may cause you a whole slew of undocumented, generic or otherwise strange problems with your display. If you encounter any sort of artifacting or crashing, before you make any topics about them, make sure Fast Write is off, first.

Probleem is terug, maar heb het gelocaliseerd..... via task manager ben ik er achter gekomen dat er om de paar minuten iets runt in SVCHOST, dat een pak CPU opvreet, met enkele stoten, voor een dikke 2 seconden... net op het moment als ook mijn beeld stottert.... Ik heb enkele SVCHOST lopen, maar het blijkt de grootste te zijn. Daarin zitten :

AudioSrv, Browser, CryptSvc, Dhcp, dmserver, ERSvc, EventSystem, FastUserSwitchingCompatibility, helpsvc, lanmanserver, lanmanworkstation, Messenger, Netman, Nla, RasAuto, RasMan, Schedule, seclogon, SENS, SharedAccess, ShellHWDetection, srservice, TapiSrv, TermService, Themes, TrkWks, uploadmgr, W32Time, winmgmt, wuauserv, WZCSVC

Iemand een idee welk van deze services om de paar minuten even iets kan doen dat mijn kaart niet leuk vind ????

Zou het leuk vinden als er een Computer God hier aanwezig, mij hierbij zou kunnen helpen.....
