[SUS] Kan je met sus ook server updaten?

Wie weet of je met een SUS ook een windows 2000 family server kan updaten?
want ik heb een SUS draaien maar deze werkt perfect zelf hij haalt de patches van microsoft af maar als ik een client op het netwerk zet en (windows 2000 family server met sp4) kan die niet geupdate worden door SUS

ik het register aan aangepast.

What Is SUS?

Microsoft Software Update Services (SUS) is like a copy of Microsoft Windows Update inside your corporate firewall for critical updates and security updates for Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP, and Windows Server™ 2003. SUS connects through your firewall to the Windows Update site and allows IT administrators to import critical updates, security updates, and service packs. Unlike the Windows Update site, however, administrators maintain control over which items will be published internally to corporate servers and desktops.

Administrators can receive e-mail notification when updates are added to their SUS pipeline. This allows administrators to prioritize installation of the most critical updates quickly and easily.

SUS consists of both client-side and server-side components to provide a basic solution to critical update management. The client-side components are included as part of the operating system in Windows 2000 SP3 and later, Windows XP SP1 and later, and Windows Server 2003.

Zou dus gewoon moeten werken.. Zal eens kijken of ik het hier kan testen..

ik heb net de client (windows 2000 family server) opnieuw geinstaller zonder hotfixes met alleen sp2.
en nog doet hij het niet. hij zou het gewoon moeten doen

Nogmaals, lees dat topic even. Daar staat wat je kunt controleren om het probleem op te lossen. Met alleen vaststellen dat hij het niet doet kom je er niet.

Tip: registersleutels en log bekijken.

Sp2 kent nog geen automatische updates
Vanaf SP3 wel

Ik heb het geinstalleert volgens de
GoT > Windows Operated Systems > [Howto] Sus Server (1/1)
handleiding geinstalleerd.
Het enige wat ik niet gedaan hen ik group pollicies want ik heb geen active diretory
draaien.

Ik wil niet zeuren maar je hebt het andere topic duidelijk niet zorgvuldig gelezen en de Deployment Guide van Microsoft ook niet.

SUS installeren is in basis vrij eenvoudig maar niet iets wat je zomaar even doet, vooral als het niet direkt werkt dan moet je heel goed nadenken over wat je aan het doen bent. Gelukkig is de documentatie zo duidelijk dat je er prima uit kunt komen.

Als je hierna toch nog vragen hebt, laat dan tenminste even zien wat je al uitgezocht hebt en wat de uitslag daarvan was.
