Na de stampede komt er weer meer

Due to severe weather in Guilford CT, we have struggled with HVAC all week. Last evening, this finally resulted in 2 servers dropping connectivity and making both the upload of results and the download of tasks impossible. In addition, stats froze up (along with the rest of the state).

We have recovered everything possible and restored service. Currently, upload and download is running smoothly - I hope members can be forgiving as we thaw out. It has been a challenging week to say the least.

Additionally, TRI will be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luter King Jr Day. See Here
For those of you who have it as a day OFF - please try to make it a day ON.

In response to a current support question, I need to say this once and for all even though people don't like to hear it.

Sneaker-netting, the same node.prp on several boxes, creating a Proxy-Node... All of these are UNSUPPORTED. All of these also put the accuracy of your stats at risk and increase the possibility of queue corruption.

I am impressed at the lengths to which people will go to participate and admire their tenacity. But if you have 10 nodes, all with same node ID, all proxying to one node and uploading - and you are missing say 200 results... I have no where to look. It could be a whole queue missing or specific results or any number of other possibilities but the fact remains that the end around on the configuration puts me in a position where I can't help you.
(I might still, because I want to, but if I don't find anything on the server that's wacky, there's little else I can do)

I realize that all of these actions are features we dearly want for 2.5. I will fight tooth and nail to make sure we get them. But let's not jump the gun and believe all these options work perfectly NOW because, well, it doesn't.

Tis maar dat je het weet, je kunt veel met TSC maar er zijn risico's (alhoewel het meestal goed gaat maarja). Volgende versie wordt alweer een beetje meer gebruiksvriendelijker
