[XP] vind xmnt2002 en autocht niet meer na maken partitie

Hallo,

Ik zit met een heel groot probleem. Ik dacht in de toekomst eens linux te proberen op mijn laptop. Ik heb juist twee partities gemaakt (een ext2 en een swap) met partition magic. Na het maken van de partities starte de computer terug op en gaf hij de melding dat hij het besturingssysteem niet vond.

Ik snel een bootdiskette genomen en het commando fdisk /mbr uitgevoerd zonder resultaat. Vervolgens fdisk opnieuw opgestart en de partities bekeken. Blijkbaar had partition magic de linux partitie al op active gezet. Ik heb de dos partitie met mijn windows op weer op active gezet. Nu begint hij weer normaal te booten en op te starten tot op een gegeven moment hij devolgende foutmelding geeft:

Mijn laptop is super belangrijk vermits al mijn documenten van het school er op staan, ik heb welliswaar een backup, maar die is ondertussen een week oud ... Is er iemand dat mij kan helpen aub?

Mij leert dat je lang niet de eerste bent die dit probleem heeft.

Dan zijn dit dus linux bestanden die door partition magic op mijn systeem gezet zijn. Maar hoe komt het dan dat hij eerst windows begint te laden en pas later zegt dat hij de bestanden niet vind?

heb ik gedaan, die mensen kunnen allemaal aan hun bootfile... Maar ik raak wel niet aan mijn ntfs partitie ...

Die spreken allemaal van hun bootfile aan te passen, maar ik heb geen flauw idee hoe ik dat zou moeten doen

Je kan dit met de Windows XP CD en Recovery console doen. Gebruk hier het commando 'BOOTCFG' en voila

Hier de HOW TO: Edit the Boot.ini File in Windows XP van Microsoft.

Nogmaals dit soort dingne kan je echt met een klein beetje zoeken terugvinden. bijvoorbeeld [google=xp recovery console edit boot.ini]

ik heb in de console bootcfg, fixboot en fixmbr geprobeerd.

Ik krijg boot.ini zelf niet geopend of gekopieerd naar een diskette, dan krijg ik acces denied? Hoe kan ik boot.ini zelf aanpassen? Dus kopieren of in console editeren?

Of ga ik mijn volledig systeem moeten formateren?

ik ben met "hetzelfde" probleem bezig misschien dat je hier iets aan hebt ik ben nog niet klaar met het uitvoeren hiervan dus het resultaat staat nog niet vast...veel succes in deze donkere tijden


I was able to solve this problem by:

Running the rescue disks (2 floppy disks) created during the installation of Partition Magic. (In case other users having this problem did not choose to create the rescue disks, they may reinstall Partition Magic on another computer and create the disks easily.)

Using these rescue disks, I was able to boot from floppy and run a DOS version of Partition Magic off the floppy disks.

But before I reached this stage, for some reason, there was some problem with the rescue disk #2 and the PC kept saying the disk was corrupt and giving me the choice of Abort,Retry,Ignore.

After reading some other postings on the web, I was forewarned to this problem (error reading floppy # 2) which many users were having and I kept pressing Retry until suddenly Partition Magic started and automatically offered to fix the floppy !

Afterwards fixing disk 2, Partition magic started and I saw the partition information of the hard disk. Next to the partition of XP, it was labelled Hidden, which was the source of the whole problem. It seems somehow Partition Magic had designated the XP partition and Hidden.

As suggested by other users on various boards, I right-clicked on the partition holding Windows XP and chose UNHIDE from the menu. I also set it to ACTIVE there in the menu. After confirming a few times, the process was complete and I proceeded to restart windows.

After restarting, Windows went into the error blue screen again... but this time instead of saying XMNT2002 and AUTOCHK not found, it said it has finished repairing some files and was restarting.

I just allowed it to restart and this time everything was fine and I was able to enter my login password and use windows as before.

Now I have both XP and RH linux working fine.

After reading about this problem on various boards, I came to realise that this is a very common problem that happens when users use Partition Magic to resize partitions.

I hope this post will help other who have the same problem avoid many sleepless nights.

En ook andere topics alsook het draadje dat je via google vind, tek-site, spreekt enkel om die melding te verwijderen, zodat je terug -als je dat probleem hebt- kan booten.

Ik kan booten, ik kan acties doen waarvoor ik niet moet booten, maar ALS hij reboot komt hij de melding geven, "xmnt2002 not found - skipping autocheck" en laat mij koud achter en doet verder niets.

Iemand lostte het op door xmnt2002.exe uit zijn system)directory te gooien, die zit er bij geeneens in. En dat lijkt me toch geen windows-bestandje. Voordien werkte zo'n dingen wel, nu blijkbaar niet.

Ik kick dit topic nog eens open, want er moeten er nog zijn (geweest) met dit probleem.
