Op een DC heb ik RIS geinstalleerd echter moet deze nog geconfigureerd worden, kan ik dit doen op een server waar op gewerkt word? (hier draait dhcp op en is continu in gebruik).

Choose Servers Carefully
When running at peak capacity—for example, during the initial stages of a rollout where multiple clients connect simultaneously—RIS puts quite a strain on a server's network bandwidth and disk transfer. You shouldn't install any non-redundant, time-sensitive services on your RIS box. Except in a testing environment, I don't even recommend running DHCP and RIS on the same machine. Never run RIS in a production environment on an Active Directory domain controller. The high traffic load from the RIS client installs could potentially affect the ability of the domain controller to authenticate clients. If you're combining server functions, RIS is well suited for coexistence on a file-and-print server, so long as the RIS partition is separate from the file share partitions.

Kan wel maar Microsoft ontraadt het gebruik van RIS op een intensief gebruikte server. Het schijnt dat RIS vrij belastend kan zijn voor het systeem.
Denk er bovendien aan dat RIS een dedicated partitie nodig heeft (vanwege SIS) en het liefst zelfs een eigen harddisk.
