Problems with dvd

Is it possible to turn off the widscreen mode for DVD movies, because the black lines at the top and bottom of the screen can be very annoying when watching enemy of the state or whatever with stupid black lines. So, if possible can u turn off the lines, and if so, which software will do it??

i have:
amd-k6 450
96mb ram
geforce
soundblaster live
and a DXR3 mpeg card

And the last question is: where can i buy us films in europe, so i don't have to buy the high shipping costs.

Ik ga dit ff gewoon in het Nederlands antwoorden (waarom engels?) :

Breedbeeld DVD's (16x9 formaat) kun je niet in fullscreen kijken, die zwarte balken houd je altijd. Er zijn wel dvd-players, bijv. PowerDVD, waar een pan&scan optie bijzit, wat het beeld iets groter maakt, maar de kwaliteit wordt dus minder...

Vindt het zelf ook jammer, maar na tijdje went het wel. Let ook es op de aspect ratio als je een dvd koopt. als je bijv. 2:35:1 koopt, krijg je dus zoiets als Enemy of the State, maar ik heb ook films met aspect ratio 1:85:1, waarbij de zwarte balken een stuk dunner zijn, bijv. Aliens. Dat scheelt toch wel een stukkie. Moet toch maar es een breedbeeld TV'tje aanschaffen

Heb net Go en Lola Rennt (double sided) op dvd binnen en die zijn gewoon full-screen!! Het kan dus wel!
